Everything was really good, from cleanliness, customer service to valet. The only thing was, I know the water pressure is nrmally regulated, but the shower was, for lack of a better word, a trickle. Just took a little longer to shower. Really deserved a 5 star or at least 4.9...

This is our third stay at the Bristol. We like it because it's just around the corner from a trolley stop and there are various attractive dining options nearby. We like the Mendocino Farms Deli and the Corner Bakery Cafe. We travel to the area by train, so we have no experience with the valet parking. The Bristol is a few blocks from the Santa Fe train station, which you can reach by trolley or by walking. Downtown San Diego, like all big cities, has its share of street people. You will have to deal with the sight of them if you want to use the trolley or walk to other amenities in the area. I don't feel unsafe when I'm there, but your mileage may vary. We book a room with 2 double beds. We have found the beds to be comfortable. Our room this time was on the 7th floor, and we found it to be very quiet. The TV was probably about 55 inches and it worked well. The young woman who checked us in did not seem very happy to be there. We were the only guests in the front desk area at the time, but she did the bare minimum to check us in and seemed annoyed that we asked how to get to the elevator. Other than that, our stay was pleasant and we would happily stay at the Bristol again.

Amazing! We stayed here because of an event at the civic theater and it was less than a 5 minute walk. Hotel staff was amazing. Front desk was welcoming and swift in checking us in early even. Room was super clean. Lots of stuff to do around and the valet parking was private and safe.

The hotel is nice. Not in the best area in downtown, but a short walk to Gas Lamp. Valet was an issue for giant truck like ours, that should be said on their website. Valet made us park in self-park one time after being able to do Valet for a full 1st day. The manager took care of the charges which was great after the parking issues. Room is comfy. Nice bed. Weirdly the AC was set to 77 when we came back from a day out. So the room was hot. This was after leaving it set at 69 degrees when we left. So there's some mystery there. Overall, a nice but not awesome place. Maybe slightly overpriced but it is San Diego.
