Sheets were dirty. Blanket dirty. Towels stink. Coffee in the bathroom. Poor quality plaster repairs where the walls have had holes in them. Outlets too loose to connect electrical devices.

HORRIBLE! DO NOT STAY HERE - Even if it's FREE!

Pros: Good location
Cons: See above review!
Location: Located on the Sac river. Just off the main road from I5.
Good location. That is about it.... Keep in mind that we were at an event and only needed this room for sleeping (arrived in room at 10-11pm and left for the day at 8am) The first room they gave us which was on the 2nd floor smelled HORRIBLE. Like dead body/rotting garbage smell. I could smell the room as soon as we opened the door. They gave us a 2nd room, down stairs... I said to make sure that there was no one above us as my son is a light sleeper. TONS of noise above us. Like someone was stomping around, and they talked VERY loudly on speaker phone. My bed had a BUG in it. The floors were not vacuumed very well. The shower was dirty - someone else's hair was still on the shower walls. The FREE Wi-Fi sucked and was very slow and non-existent at some points. The second night our room key didn't work. So I had to walk back up to the office (11pm-12am) and get another key. Took the lady about 15 min to come out to the locked door to give me a new key without a sorry, just hateful mean looks. Room was supposed to be cleaned - they refolded our dirty, wet towels that were sitting on the floor and put them back up. Not vacuumed. I was VERY disappointed!!! I wouldn't stay here again even if it was FREE, and if I had more time I would of called or drove to another hotel to stay.

Well-maintained, affordable hotel by the river

Pros: Dated but clean and well-maintained, friendly staff, nice swimming pool, quiet location by the river
Cons: Clearly label minimum and maximum clearance for tall vehicles trying to approach through the "A" shaped entry
My friend and I stayed here for the night while moving from Washington State to the Bay Area. A family owns this hotel and obviously takes meticulous care of the grounds and facilities. They helped us find a place to park our Uhaul with a car trailer, and recommended delicious local restaurant options. We enjoyed a walk by the river after dinner.

in red bl Easy to find

Arrived 10 pm after 12 hour drive. Travelocity had not mentioned it was two floors up steep stairs to our room. Hauled all our stuff up, opened door, blast of hot air greeted us. Probably close to 100 degrees inside. Turned on weak A/C, but knew it would be several hours to cool it down. Helpful staff brought fan. Toilet did not work. Staff came and fixed it (it was broken). Not enough towels and toiletries for two people. Staff brought some more. Refrigerator took a long time to cool down. Ice machine was outside at the other end down the stairs. A lot of bugs flew in when door was opened, and landed in bathroom sink.
