Disappointed and Frustrated

This was an extended family trip and we were all very excited to be going. Family memories were made, but in the end, the troubles that we encountered throughout our stay were not rectified. Upon arrival, not all the air conditioners were working. Someone had to come the following day to fix the a/c in the main living room and also one of the bedrooms. Two days into the trip, we lost all hot water. ALL hot water. It wasn't a matter of too many showers being taken, no one had hot water for the rest of the trip. We couldn't even wash dishes in hot water. Which leads me to...the dishwasher wasn't working. The sliding back door did not lock so we had to stack chairs up against the slider every night and every time we left the house. The jets in the hot tub didn't work ever during our stay. Lots of disappointing things in the house just weren't working. Through all this, the owner was difficult to contact. He did have a friend who was kind enough to try and help us and did get the a/c fixed but as he wasn't the property manager, we eventually stopped contacting him for help with these issues. The owner did reach out and apologize for all our troubles and we agreed in writing, in good faith, that he would reimburse us for one night's stay. I am very sad to report, he has decided NOT to reimburse us anything. I was lied to. I am angry, saddened and disappointed that it has come to this. As such, I can not in good conscience recommend this home to anyone interested.
