Cabin

Property is located in a very nice location. Door code did not work at check in but owner was quick to respond and work that out for us even in the middle of the night. The inside had a very strong odor- musty with mold or mildew perhaps as there are several stains on the ceiling. We had to leave the property due to wife’s difficulties with breathing and a reaction to something inside. Multiple bug traps suggest a prior issue. With 20 years in property management I would recommend some updates/cleanup of the property.

Our stay was good. We didn't experience any unexpected issues other than what was stated in previous reviews. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the location was pleasant and quiet.

Our stay

After riding for 4 hours to get to the cabin and arriving around 3pm the day of check in which check in is at 3pm the cleaning lady was still there when we walked in we were told she would be there until around 430pm because she had to deep clean a mattress in one of the rooms but we were also told that she didn’t know there was supposed to be anyone there until the following day(communication issue). We left and just rode around until 5pm when we got back she was still there cleaning so we left again the owner said she would buy our dinner because we had to wait to get in the cabin so we went and ate and went to Callaway gardens to see the lights when we got back to the cabin to take showers the water pressure was very low and the mattresses on the beds were hard (We did not get a good night sleep)

Yard was overgrown. Listing said grill but no grill. No instructions for operating sat. TV. Advertised weak internet but there was no internet. Baking pans were rusty. The floor was sticky like a cinema theater.

Christmas time with my kids

We had a great time. Everything was excellent with the exception of the satellite tv you have to hard reset anytime you change the channel and they say WiFi is available and it is but the WiFi has no modem and satellite hooked to it so there is not any internet access. This made staying in touch with work difficult for my daughter and I and exhausted our phones data plan. Not a reason to not go but something to keep in mind if internet connection is important to you. If I had taken my myfi it would have been no issues.

We thought this cabin was ok. The cell service is not great and the Hughesnet service is non existent. The TV is just basic TV no cable or streaming services which made this cabin super boring for my 2 teen kids. Cleaning was ok. I seen several large spiderwebs throughout. Ants was there and they had ant traps on the floors.

Dont rent

Low water pressure due to low well water and no hot water up stairs tub dont work and the bed was broken and couldn't use the swim pool there cause it was for the resort. Couldn't watch tv that much and the side doors dont stay lock and the first day had a smell when you walk in no outside garbage can. Made loud noise and the floor was coming up back deck light dont come on

Girls trip

The cabin was okay but there is very little light in the bedrooms, burned out bulbs in bathroom, shower has very little water coming out of it . There were dead bugs on bathroom floor. We were given the wrong code to get in and couldn’t get in touch with our contact person. We were told that she had a medical emergency and that’s why we couldn’t get in touch.

Thanksgiving Weekend

For the most part everything was great. Folks sleeping upstairs complained of loud chestnuts falling on the roof. Wifi was different than in instructions, and couldn't get it to work. Otherwise, very nice.

Light shoe

It was difficult at night finding the house. We drove around the circle a few times. We walk in and start putting groceries in the refrigerator and the handle fell off and then freezer handle was loose. Fortunately my husband had his tools and fixed it. Then I opened the flatware door and it caved it…..missing a drawer roller that someone had bent to hold it in place. The paper towel holder was leaning over. Just a lot of little things that made me feel like the property was not well cared for. It was a rainy weekend so we woke up to sugar ants everywhere and we killed at least 10 wasps. Yeah we left a day early to go home. the rain made the lights show miserable and a muddy mess and didn’t feel like sleeping with sugar nights again.

Will not return

the place was not clean; do not think a vaccum had been run before our arrival. Water pressure was very low; tub and bathroom sinks stopped up and toilets had to be plunged. A broken chair was placed in one closet and one lamp was broken but left on table. The dishwasher was not fastened correctly and the refrigerator door handle was broken. The toaster had to be unplugged to stop the toaster. The linens were worn out and did not fit the beds. There were roaches. The place is simply not taken care of and no one is checking this.

Looks are deceiving!

At first glance, and by the pictures on the listing, you would think this is a cute, updated cottage. However, that is far from reality! I did not call and report any issues as we do not feel comfortable having people come in our rental while we are there. Too many issues to list but here are a few: No water pressure-Barely able to wash soap off in the extremely small shower. Coffee pot leaked, bring your own if you like coffee. Refrigerator appeared new but handle is not attached at the bottom. Dishwasher is not secured in the island. Flooring is coming up in dining area. Broken furniture in the both downstairs bedrooms. Garbage left in a bucket on the deck. Broken glass in the dirt at several places along the side walk. Ants were seen upstairs. Upstairs toilet clogged easily. Cobwebs present in most rooms. Dirty oven. The worst place I have ever rented on VRBO. I have pictures of all issues if management disputes this review.

Dirty, Ants in bed!

When we arrived we noticed the cabin was not clean. Then we found thousands of ants in the kitchen, bathroom, foyer. The beds were not comfortable at all and even woke in the middle of the night with hundreds of ants all in our bed. Worst VRBO ever rented.
