Nice, with some flaws

Very nice hotel, save for these three issues... Fire alarm went off hotel-wide one night at 11:00pm for minutes before staff came on the in-room speakers to announce they were looking into the cause. Very unsettling. Then after 10 minutes of silence and kids finally getting back to sleep, staff announced an All Clear, only to accidentally set off the alarm yet again and wake up kids once more. Also, reservation was for 4 people, yet House Keeping insisted on only providing 2 wash cloths each day (despite calls to the front desk requesting more daily, and assurances they'd let the cleaning staff know to leave more). Doors are exceptionally heavy and slam loudly, making for a fitful night's sleep. One other annoyance, parking is shared with their conference center space, sometimes creating congestion, lack of close spaces, and requiring entry to the hotel past conference attendees mingling and getting their coffee, etc.

Decent Hotel

Pros: I liked that this hotel was close to Disneyland and close to the family I was visiting. The bed was comfortable and everyday when we returned there were new towels and the bed had been made.
Cons: I did not like that the bathroom was really dirty. The vent had a ton of dust built up on it, the shower drain was clearly clogged and while showering the water would pool up to your ankles, the sink was dirty and the counter in the bathroom was old and worn. The toilet needed the handle jiggled in order to stop running once used.
Location: We enjoyed that it was close to Disneyland.

From Beginning to End - Excellent

Pros: Everything was excellent. Just a great experience and a beautiful facility.
Location: We walked to Roscoe's Chicken and Waffles. There were several stores and places to eat that were in walking distance.
From the moment we walked in, the service was excellent. The hotel was beautiful. I called to ask about a shuttle between flights and was informed that there wasn't. The gentleman I spoke with - believe his name was Michael, was the same person who checked us in when we arrived. Very friendly and a pleasant surprise since I thought I was talking to someone in a back office. The room was small but suitable for the short period of time that were there. We received shuttle passes for Disney which was great since we hadn't planned how we would get there. We included breakfast with our room reservation. That breakfast and service was great. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We used the exercise facility and it was very clean. There were cool towels with a lemony scent that we used after working out. We participated in the s'mores event. You pay around $7 or $9 for the kit. The graham crackers were horrible but the experience was nice. We decided that we would definitely stay at this hotel again if in the area. We loved that the room was nice and dark even during the day - good curtains. We had trouble adjusting to the time difference so we would go to bed early even though it was still bright outside. You won't be disappointed.

Looks wonderful but beware of noise issues.

Pros: Looks beautiful. Great amenities. Close to Disneyland.
Cons: End parties earlier than midnight due to noise complaints. Have multiple buses in the AM to Disneyland. The one we took at 7:45am was over packed.
Location: The neighborhood is a bit sketchy so I don't recommend walking around. We had takeout from Mi Casa and my wife got food poisoning.
The hotel is magnificent from the outside. The lobby is spectacular and the amenities and services are great. The biggest problem was on Friday night there was a party with a DJ. Usually sound doesn't bother me but in this case the entire room was shaking from the bass. We are on a room not facing the atrium so I can only imagine what the interior rooms sounded like. We had an 18 month old who usually sleeps well but not this night. We complained and were told they had other complaints and it was scheduled to end at midnight. Midnight? At a family hotel? That is way too late an inappropriate for a family friendly hotel. The second night there was a wedding but we luckily didn't hear any noise from it. Other than that the room was nice. I wouldn't really call it a kid's "Suite". There was just a door separating the king bed from the area with the bunk beds. The bathroom is in the kid's area. So it just felt like a room with a door in the middle. Not a big deal with a young child but I can see there might be issues with older kids. The food from OC Brewhouse was okay. The beer selection was okay as well. I enjoyed sitting in the OC Brewhouse with a child since they had a little play area and a tv with kids programs. All in all I really liked the hotel and the convenience to Disneyland but they really need to cut off the noise at an earlier time. Midnight is kind of ridiculous especially after receiving numerous complaints.

Nice hotel close to Disneyland.

We stayed in one of the kids suites. It worked out great with our two kids. They loved the bunk beds and having their own TV. We liked having our own king bed and doors that would close off the kids area. The small refrigerator and microwave came in handy since kids are always hungry. The hotel staff was very friendly and the every 30 minute direct shuttle to Disneyland was great.

Good Stay - Questionable Front Desk Staff

Pros: The room was nice.
Cons: make sure that the front desk can make faster decisions instead of having travelers wait a long time to get the questions answered
Location: x
The hotel stay was actually good. The room was great. Facilities were great. However, I'm giving this rating because of my experience with the front desk when I first checked in. The room was originally in my husband's name, but because of a family emergency, he didn't come along. When I went to check-in, I was told that I wasn't able to and that my husband would have to call Travelocity to have them change the reservation to my name. I asked if I could just show the confirmation # (since I was the one who reserved the room and had all the information come to my email). I was told no. I asked if I could call Travelocity and ask them to change to my name. I was told no. So I called Travelocity anyway, and a kind agent (Roger) was able to help me. However, after he changed the reservation to my name as well as sent the hotel 4 faxes, they still did not see the changes. The front desk then asked me if I could wait another 10 minutes for the faxes to arrive which I responded with telling them that I had already waited for 15 minutes. So then they got a manager involved who simply said to SHOW THEM THE CONFIRMATION EMAIL that I offered in the first place. FRUSTRATING. COMPLETELY FRUSTRATING. Not appreciated after traveling for 5-6 hours.

Well maintained, a little pricey for the area

It will always be the Alacante Princess Hotel to me, but its a Hyatt regency now and as expected Hyatt runs a tight ship. Property is well maintained and the staff are all courteous and professional. Nice,,pricey but nice.
