BEWARE OF UNEXPECTED CHARGES!!

Don't get me wrong, the room was great. The bed was comfortable, the water was hot, and the carpet was clean. HOWEVER, if you stay at this hotel, be prepared to pay an additional $25 "Incidental fee" at check-in, as well as an additional $10 dollars (in cash only) for breakfast.

Excellent value for money

Pros: Ambiance
Cons: Exhaust fan in Bathroom and Caulking would need some improvement.
Location: Dairy Queen and Nearby Starbucks was nice tool.
Were impressed by the Staff, Cleanliness and Ambiance of the place. Except for the chlorine high indoor swimming pool, everything about the place was great. Would mention accessibility from Virginia Beach and Sandbridge beach is decent (Always ran into traffic backed up miles long for some or other fender benders near the tunnel)

Dirty, outdated, uncomfortable hotel

Pros: It had a nice lobby, but that's like putting a nice cover on a book full of profanity.
Cons: Ripped furniture should be removed immediately. Room should be cleaned more thoroughly, and the damaged walls, wallpaper, and doors should be fixed.
Location: The location was within half an hour of the wedding. We weren't there for any other reasons, so I don't know about nearby attractions.
We were in town for a wedding on May 23. We stayed the night of May 22. We paid as much for that one night as we did for the 2 previous nights at a different hotel, which I can understand since it was the Friday before Memorial Day weekend. What I can't understand is why a hotel with a name like Hilton, which comes with fees and higher prices, gets away with shredded furniture, outdated bathroom fixtures, peeling wallpaper, peeling paint, and pubic hair in the tub. It was disgusting, and I'm horrified that we paid that much money for something that I would not have paid half that price for. I took pictures of all of these things, which I unfortunately cannot attach to this review. I would never recommend this hotel, and I will be very hesitant to ever stay at a Hilton again. Furthermore, I will be contacting the Hilton company.

Great Stay

The hotel was great, perfectly located as far as shopping,  eateries, banks and getting to my primary locations.  The room itself was comfortable, very clean, quiet and the staff was great. I will be staying again!

Very nice hotel for business people and families.

Pros: Free Internet, Quiet
Cons: fee for breakfast
This hotel is in North Suffolk near many businesses. Also it is centrally located to several shopping centers and grocery stores. The exterior was very clean and well lit. The lobby is very nice with a gas burning fireplace and plenty of seating. The desk staff were nice and friendly and in less than 5 minutes we were checked in and on our way to our room. We had a double queen bed room which was clean and had all the amenities; fridge, microwave, coffee pot and blow dryer. One thing about this room though, the bathroom door opened out into the little entry and blocks the main door; I think maybe a pocket door would have been better. We had drinks at the bar one night and our bartender was very friendly and knowledgeable about what she was doing. My only complaint would be the breakfast. The breakfast buffet is $10 for full breakfast and $4.50 for continental breakfast (cereal, fruit, muffins, etc) The full breakfast did include the continental breakfast. I would not consider the full breakfast a buffet; if you wanted more you had to pay another $10. But if you preferred to eat at the hotel versus going out, it was sufficient. There is a Panera Bread and a Starbuck nearby that also had breakfast. Overall I would stay at this hotel again when I am in the area.

Very lovely and clean hotel!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
I stayed at the Hilton Garden Inn in Suffolk for the weekend and I gotta say it was such a nice experience! The room was very clean and lovely. I was a little worried because I usually never travel myself, but I felt very safe and comfortable. The bed was very firm but right before I left I noticed you can adjust the mattress on the side..duhh. I didn't get to eat at the hotel restaurant but it looked very nice. I did enjoy their complimentary coffee before I left. It was also very close to norfolk downtown ( about 15min drive) Overall I thought it was a great hotel for the price! I payed a lot more for hotels not even close as nice and clean as this one!

Great place to stay

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We received excellent service at the Hilton Garden Inn. The bar and food was enjoyable. All employees we were friendly and did everything to be helpful and answer our questions. The room was imaculent, the bed was awesome. Will stay agian if we ever make our way back to Virginia.

Mediocrity at its best

Cons: Poor breakfast, unkept, breakfast not edible for $11, smelly, this is a cheaply run hotel
We visited Norfolk for a college graduation, and read many reviews about the downtown hotels being noisy. I had recently stayed in a new Hilton Garden Inn in Indiana that was fabulous. When I found this brand new one near Norfolk, and in a quiet area I booked without hesitation. Everything was a disappointment: ragged sheets, dirty floors, shoddy service for breakfast...hideous food, paper cocktail napkins only, very dusty. When we asked for cloth napkins or at least dinner size the server got frustrated and shared that they wash linens on the weekend. We had to hunt for splenda. When we tried to print boarding passes in the business center there was no ink. The computers were beyond cheap and very old. This is a new hotel? Shame on Hilton. Never again for us. We will stay where it is noisy, and take our chances. There was also a smell of bleach throughout the hotel. Yuch!

Worth the money! Great getaway!

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet
This Hilton lived up to the Hilton name. Clean and crisp. Flat screen. Nice bed, and room in entirety. The noise from a group of young girls staying on the same floor was the only turn off, but I know of course this has nothing to do with the hotel. Staff was pleasant. The whole environment in the lobby was awesome. Can't wait to visit again. Being from the corporate housing side this was a 10 by far. Resturants and shopping area nearby.
