The location of the hotel was perfect and very near to my event. The staff customer services was surperb.(Desk Clerk and Dinning Room Attendant). I will be staying again here during my next visit to Hampton, Va.

The property was very nice and well kept how ever your attendant were less than pleasing. the rection staffer, was very nonchalant no, greetings, and when asked if this is the norm, she implied that it is not a requirement of anyone in your establishment, I find that pleasantry and greeting in any establishment goes along way the experience was very strange, and we requested room service for linen change while housekeeping was on our floor working, and the house keeper gave me a humpf, and I was told "well it will take about an hour before I can get to you, mind you she was 2 doors away, so my significant other and I decide that we would just go ahead and get dressedto go out, approximate hour and a half later we went down the stairwell to exit and the housekeeper was outside kicking it with another employee, if she had said I will be with you as soon as I can or something instead of acting like it was a problem, that would have sufficed however, being that I am a guest form out of town, and had chosen your establishment, as a resting place because of the recommendation, then I find that the expectation was not lived up to. I am so sorry to have to bring this to your attention however I felt is necessary for you to know how your staff behavior can affect the stay of your visitors.

They left my door open three days in a row.

Pros: Proximity to my work
Cons: Fix the shower curtain rods, Make the beds properly, SHUT THE DOOR so it latches.
I came back from work to find my door lodged open on three separate occasions. When I complained to management, my safety apparently was only worth 5000 bonus points on my Marriott rewards member card. Then I felt retaliated against as my bathroom was not cleaned the next day. I then asked them to not clean my room at all and not let housekeeping in only to come back and find that they had been in there and left my door open AGAIN. Also the curved shower curtain sags down in each of the rooms I have been in. It's as if they really do not care. Also I had to remake the bed when I got to the room in the first place as they had put the mattress pad on smooth side down so the rough side was up and hadn't even bothered to secure it properly so it really didn't cover the bed anyway. The carpet is stained. I will not be back and I am recommending that our company stop using them at all. The Hilton, in front of the Marriott is less expensive and I have heard they close your door properly after cleaning the room.

Good Breakfast

Pros: Breakfast was pretty good, sufficient food offered; hot and cold. Staff was friendly and accommodating. Nice lobby area sufficiently separated
Cons: There could be an easy chair in the bedroom side. Need more lighting in bedroom. Toilet seat looked like peeling paint. Hold bar in shower needed.
Location: Didn't stay long. There for a weekend visit. The area was clean and inviting.
The rooms are very spacious. The room was clean enough, yet there are some things that could be changed, like clean the baseboards, add some bright colors here and there and add more toiletries, like lotion, shower gel, and mouthwash. There was only shampoo and conditioner and soap bars. I hate to say it, but these missing items, as well as coffee and tea, which is in most hotels I've frequented for like prices, appear that they are stingy and are spartan in nature; the bare minimums.

Pleasantville IA folks

This hotel was outstanding as far as we were concerned-the staff went out of their way to accomodate our every request! it was VERY clean,great breakfast buffet and super-nice clean amenities such as the pool,whirlpool,weight room- everything! I would most definitely recommend it and stay here again! We stayed here for 8 days for our son's wedding from Nov 2-10 2008.

Last minute - Best decision

I found this hotel at the last minute. My mom and I along with my 2 month old daughter came to town to visit my sister. I'm glad I searched one last time for a place to stay. This hotel was so nice. My sister wasn't familiar with the hotel because it's fairly new. We were wowed by how nice the rooms were. We plan to stay again on our next visit to Newport News. Also, we loved the hot-cold breakfast.

Great Place To Stay

This was a great place to stay. Family was in town for a funeral and the stay here made it even better for the family. There were people staying here from NC, VA, MD and other states. There was a young man, name Stephen, at the front desk that assisted everyone with direction on street names, places to eat and etc. etc. etc..... Rooms were clean and nice. The hotel provided a great continental breakfast. There was a variety to choose from. There was a situation with our television, we contacted the front desk and maintenance was there within 5 minutes. We were shocked at the prompt service. We will recommend others to stay here and we will stay here again.
