It was a great location. The hotel had good vibe and all the staff were fantastic. Would 100% stay here again and recommend it to all. Extra thank you to Paulo for going over and beyond for my wife and I. Much appreciated!

Great boutique hotel located just north of the Flatiron building. Close to the subway and tons of great restaurants and bars. Room was an Empire Queen, a bit on the small side but nicely decorated with a great view. We stayed 6 nights for a work/fun trip and enjoyed our stay here. Staff was great, everyone we meet was friendly and helpful. Rooftop bar had some great views and was not as crowded as many others you visit. Would definitely stay here again next time we are in town.

Good location, small rooms, and helpful staff

Pros: Location; helpful staff
Cons: Cleanness, size of the room
Good location in the heart of midtown Manhattan. Close to N, Q, R subway lines. Also a compact but nice bathroom, but that's about all the good things for this facility. A/C broke down on our first night, and we slept through heat and sweat. Front desk was helpful and moved us to another room the next morning. Both rooms are small compared to other hotels I have stayed. For example, to get into the bathroom, there was only about a foot of opening around the corner of a bed. Not including the bath room, the length of the room is basically the combined widths of two double beds, with a narrow gap between the beds barely wide enough for one person. Not sure if other Manhattan hotels in this price range also have such small rooms. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful, but room service was another story. The cleaning person did not vacuum the floor, and did not clean the bathroom well. We saw the same dirt and dust inbetween the beds throughout our stay. There is not a fitness center on site. I just jogged outside in the morning. Overall, not a bad stay if you are looking for convenience and value.

We are sorry that in during your stay we could not deliver. although a a first impression could never be redone, we hope you give The Paul Hotel another chance to make it up to you when you return to NYC.

One Night Stand - Could Have Been Better

Pros: friendly staff
Cons: clean, sparkling linens!... better hot water and water pressure
Location: MSG, ESB, and Flat Iron District within waling distance
First the staff are very friendly. My room appeared to be very clean and had a nice view of the Empire State Building. However, the complimentary ear plugs on my night stand should have been the first tip off that this wasn't going to be the best place. Loud noises do not bother me, and if you are staying in NYC, I think you should expect them. However, directly across the street is a construction site and there was constant pile-driving and drilling the entire night during my stay... and it was really loud. I was out and about and didn't really get to my room until around 2:00 AM. When getting into bed, I noticed my mattress sheet was stained in at least two spots. Now I realize these were probably clean, but it just grossed me out and proved to me that either the room wasn't really clean or that the staff were not paying attention. I was too tired and already undressed for bed, so I didn't call the desk. I literally slept on towels. I told the desk the net morning and she did feel really bad, but I still just can't return. One last thing.... I got a shower around 4:30 PM.... it took about 10 minutes for the shower to get hot.
