I paid for an upgraded room with a very specific view. Upon arrival, I saw that the ENTIRE bullding was covered with a black construction tarp. As expected, this tarp and the scaffolding it was covering blocked the view i had paid for. The listing said nothing about any construction, especially something this severe. The hotel told me tontough it out, and did not even offer a discount to the rate of a regular room (without view).

Rooms are large for midtown. A nice hotel. The time it takes to wait for the elevators is very frustrating - at night time one of the elevators is reserved for the rooftop bar which make the wait time even longer.

The bad- Front Desk Staff is a fun combination of snarky and rude. Don’t expect to get a benefit if you’re an Expedia VIP. Shower backed up after 5 minutes. The good- Housekeeping was terrific. Turn down was a nice touch.

I did not like being provided a wheelchair accessible room when it was not requested. I did not like how my platinum American Express card $100 credit was not honored. The cocktails at the rooftop and the service at the rooftop bar was poor. Overall, a disappointing stay after having numerous great prior experiences at the hotel. I now will have to find a new “go to “ hotel in NYC in the same great vicinity.

This hotel is fantastic. The rooms are spacious—a real luxury in New York. The location is excellent, and even though it’s close to Times Square, it’s surprisingly quiet. Everything was spotless, the staff were wonderful, and the food was great.
