Nice hotel downtown

The staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel was right downtown close to shopping and Madison Square Garden. The hotel is a little dated, but the rooms have been updated and are clean. Only possible issue for some people, is the street noise, but there's nothing you can do about that. It's downtown New York City. And honestly, you actually begin to drown it out once you stop paying attention to it. But I would highly recommend this hotel. And I'm confident that I will stay at this hotel again.

excellent place to stay on business

Pros: free water und soda in the minifridge upon arrival
Cons: while the $5.95 breakfast upgrade was nice it did cost an additional $5 for bagel and coffee which was free in the free buffet
Location: less than 1/2 block from herald square subway station which is one stop away from times square so you have the city at your feet.

Stayed over for a concert at MSG

Location: The location was prime. Herald Square and vendors steps away.
My husband and I stayed one night at the Metro and it was wonderful. They had a free "Happy Hour" with appetizers and upgraded our room. Although, the roof top area did not have tables (due to the fall season) we were able to go out and take pictures of the Empire State Building. The upgraded room had a complimentary mini frig with beverages. The breakfast was adequate, nothing fancy just some bagels, muffins, cereal and fruit. The staff were delightful. We would definitely stay again next time we are in the city.

Great NYC Stay

Pros: Location, Affordability, small amenities
Cons: I know it's only temporary, but it was a bummer that the rooftap bar was under construction.
Location: Super close to the subway, Times Square is only blocks away
> Excellent location! Just a few blocks from Times Square, but more importantly, the subway is only steps outside the front door. > Continental breakfast was decent but nothing great. It was nice to have that available to avoid paying for another meal, since a NYC trip can get expensive! > The business/meeting room was convenient to print our boarding passes and some Yankee tickets we bought. > Our room had an umbrella to use, which was great since it rained during half our stay. > The rooftop is awesome! Amazing view of the Empire State Building both day and night. The rooftop bar was under construction so that was a big bummer and probably the biggest "con" of the hotel during our stay. > We ended up with a handicap room on the 2nd level, so we didn't have any view and the bathroom floor got very wet after taking a shower. We requested a higher floor but no luck. Not a big deal since we weren't in the room much anyway, but it would have been nice. Overall, for the price + location + small touches (breakfast, rooftop, etc), I loved the Hotel Metro!

This is the perfect hotel for vacation or business

Pros: It has a sophisticated yet friendly feel. Clean, comfortable, quiet, good service. Loved the breakfast & wine receptions.
Location: Close to subway and Times Square. Easy to get everywhere you need to go.
Quiet, clean, comfortable rooms, friendly & helpful staff, excellent location. Loved the morning breakfast and afternoon wine reception. Beautiful lobby and gathering areas. We had an outstanding experience in every way. Stayed for four nights, and will definitely return on next vacation. Disappointed that the rooftop lounge was closed for renovation, but will check it out next time!

Comfortable hotel with a convenient location.

Pros: The hotel is conveniently located within a short walk from Times Square. The rooms were clean and the building is quiet.
I was pleasantly surprised by the quiet and comfort at the Hotel Metro. The rooms are small, but spacious enough for a few nights sleep. The location is excellent. The Hotel is tucked away on west 45th St., a short walk from Times Square and the Garden. The hotel staff was very professional, kind and courteous. I would not hesitate to stay at the Hotel Metro again.

Small but nice!

Pros: Free breakfast, Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
We booked this room for our NYC vacation over Christmas. I had booked a 'Standard Double' room, which judging from the photos it had 2 beds, however, ended up being only one very small bed (I'm not taking off a star as it is my fault in the end for assuming that). Just beware, that it is NYC and rooms are small and this room was no exception! In the end, we really enjoyed the room and the hotel. Coffee and tea are offered all day which was a life safer when trying to warm up after a day in the city. Breakfast was good and easy (nothing fancy) - bagels, cereal, yogurt, pastries, etc. We did not try the restaurant but I have heard it is very good. Steps from Subway , Macys, and only 5-10 minutes from Times Square. Would we stay here again? Maybe! We like to try new places but we would stay here again if it was a good price!
