NYC Hotel experience

Hotel very close to Grand Central, so easy to go anywhere by subway, train. Staff were very friendly. Room was not ready at 3pm, but they gave us free drinks, breakfast , and called me as soon as ready, so we explored the city .

This hotel gave us comfort

Pros: Quiet, walking distance to everything
Cons: none
We recently stayed at the Fitzpatrick Grand Central Hotel after returning from 3 weeks in Europe. Hiking no less, so we arrived looking a little worse for wear after also flying all day from Rome to NYC. Those working at the check-in desk didn't even glance at our condition. We excused ourselves for looking disheveled and they didn't care in the least. We were treated like with the utmost respect and everyone was extremely helpful. Our room was fabulous as was the surroundings. Being across the street from Grand Central Station was an added bonus since we had a train to catch the next evening. The hotel kept our traveling gear locked up during the day after checking out so we could walk around on this beautiful day. We travel to New York often from Oregon and have done so for many years. This is one of the best hotels we've found. New York is like a second home to us and our hearts go out to the people dealing with this new disaster. We wish you all well at the Fitzpatrick Grand and to New Yorker's everywhere.

great location, cozy, friendly

Pros: Close restaurants, Quiet
Stayed here for three nights for 40th birthday. Rooms were clean and fairly spacious for nyc. Bathrooms were adequate and showers were above average. Shower heads were up high and there was lots of room. Nice decor and the room was incredibly quiet. We were on the second floor on the street and kept our windows open most of the time. However beware there are mosquitos which we later found out. Coffee maker in room was a huge plus. Wheeltapper was good for both food and drink. Staff was very helpful. Had one bad recommendation which was for breakfast at Ruffles I believe. Greg and Fernando know their stuff so seek their help if you're looking.

The staff members were extremely welcoming and accommodating

We heard of The Fitzpatrick from a family friend and decided to stay there for our anniversary weekend getaway. We arrived before the scheduled 3pm check-in but the staff members were still extremely welcoming and offered to store our bags until we could check in. When we came back hours later, the bellhop and the woman at the front desk rememberd us by name and sent for our bags. We were only there for a few minutes earlier, and we were so pleased and surprised that they called us by name when we returned. The room itself was clean and cozy, with romantic lighting and more than adequate toiletry items. The hotel is connected to an adorable little Irish Pub with a covered outdoor patio that we ended up visiting at the end of our night. We would definitely recommend The Fitzpatrick and absolutely stay there again.

Great location and price!

I have stayed here three times now and never had an issue. Among the many reasons to stay here are location and price. The hotel itself doesn't have a ton of amenities but if you're staying in midtown odds are you are going to be sightseeing or conducting business anyway. The attached restaurant has good food, the staff is courteous and helpful, and the rooms are clean and comfortable. In short, the Fitzpatrick Grand Central is an excellent value for the money, has a great location, and is a hotel to which I would return.

Good choice.

Pros: Close restaurants
Cons: No free Internet
Fairly close to 5th Ave, Grand Central, and Avenues of the Americas. Clean and well aired room. Well worth the money in NY. Restuarant food ok.

Overall a great stay

Pros: Quiet
My girlfriend and I came here for the weekend and had a great time. The room was bigger and nicer than we expected considering the price and the fact that it was in New York City. The room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The location was also very good for the things that we wanted to see. The only negative thing about our trip was we found the service in the restaurant to be slightly unfriendly but nothing too horrible. Overall it was a great stay and we would definitely consider going to this hotel again.
