La casa es una hermosa estructura estuco de 2 pisos con un techo rojo de tejas españolas. Es una arquitectura única e interesante, con sus accesos y las puertas arqueadas. La estructura original está intacta con muy pocos cambios en el diseño original. Hay pisos de madera originales y azulejos de cerámica que han sido bellamente restaurados. El largo pasillo central sirve para la galería de fotos perfecto para fotos de Eliot.

El porche delantero elevado y la parte delantera patio de estilo patio es maravilloso y un gran lugar para sentarse y no hacer nada. El lote de esquina ofrece una hermosa vista de los tranquilos alrededores de la zona.

Los huéspedes pueden disfrutar de museo de arte, jardines botánicos y nuevo parque a pie del parque de la ciudad.

Laura y Eliot Kamenitz han poseído y residido en su casa desde mayo de 1995. Ellos son la quinta y actuales propietarios de este 1924 planteado casa de estilo casa de campo. Laura es una ingeniera química retirada y Eliot es un fotógrafo profesional jubilado.

Tres gatos, Ranger, Billy y Koshka (¡de Rusia!), residir en el laurel.

El Laurel se licencia con la ciudad de Nueva Orleans y ha estado en funcionamiento desde 1996. PIANO miembros, gerentes profesionales de Nueva Orleans.

My partner and I had such a wonderful timing staying here - we really cannot recommend the Laurel Bed and Breakfast enough. It's a hidden gem in the Mid-city neighborhood and is the perfect escape from the busy downtown. It has everything you need: quick commutes via Streetcar to virtually any part of the city, beautiful walks along City Park and local neighborhood eateries that were a joy to visit. Laura is an incredible host, very communicative and is dedicated to making sure your stay is special and inviting. If you are visiting New Orleans, you must stay here.

The house is lovely and the hostess is kind and interesting. She/they have a lot of fascinating art. The bedroom was comfortable, the sitting room was particularly nice as it had a lot of light from many windows. The breakfast was not extensive but it was fine. good coffee. The neighborhood was pretty and full of those wonderful trees that New Orleans is famous for. We would return happily.

This was a sweet, roomy apartment. I loved the sun porch overlooking the neighbor’s tile roof. Lots of eclectic decor, great location! Lovely breakfast served on the prettiest handmade pottery. And very comfy bed.

The Laurel is a gem in a perfect New Orleans setting. One of my favorite stays ever. The guest suite is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Laura is a gracious, welcoming, attentive hostess. I loved walking to Bayou St. John and being just a few blocks from the gorgeous live oaks in City Park with its Sculpture Garden, coffee and beignet, Art Museum. And there are several great restaurants in easy walking distance. A perfect perch for enjoying the best of New Orleans.

This experience was MAGICAL! My son and I traveled to New Orleans for his 30th birthday. We knew we wanted to spend time in the French Quarter and also stay in a charming neighborhood that so encapsulates the mystery and wonder of New Orleans. At our owner-occupied B & B, our space had a private entrance with a sunroom, bedroom, and bathroom. Imagine an oversized beautiful hotel room. I slept in the sunroom which had a very comfortable pull-out sofa. My son had the bedroom (his birthday) and it felt like we each had our own little areas. The property is gorgeous and in easy walking distance of local establishments. Enjoy the views of the neighborhood while you walk! The house and gardens are a marvel, and our hostess was perfection - the right amount of guidance while also allowing us privacy. We loved her! breakfast was nice; they had fresh bananas and warm croissants. anything else we wanted we could have got if we had asked. the hosts were very kind, easy to talk to (i find myself to be an awkward person) and very helpful. she recommended to us some cool places to eat and experience. her home is very nice, full of different pieces of art and just overall a beautiful sight to see.

A lovely 100 year old home in a quiet, tree lined section of Mid-City with a separate entrance, separate sitting room with lots of windows, a very clean bathroom and comfortable bed. A charming bed and breakfast

My sister and I stayed here for three nights and were overjoyed at our space, and especially at the hospitality from Laura. This is a substantial home in an absolutely beautiful walk friendly neighborhood. We walked to Cedar Park two days in a row to enjoy the sculpture garden and the art museum. We walked daily in the neighborhood googling at all the different homes with their beautiful façades and gardens. Laura prepared a lovely continental breakfast for us each morning with French press, coffee, local croissants, and muffins, yogurt and fruit. That coffee was so good. I did yoga in the front courtyard in the afternoons and felt like I was at a fancy spa and resort. Two big thumbs up for this place.

Pleasant Place to Stay

A nice location just off Bayou St. John on the fringe of the Mid-City section of New Orleans. Quiet neighborhood, pretty apartment, safe street parking. Our hosts were friendly and personable. No hesitation about recommending this B & B to anyone visiting.
