This rental property is in a great location, close to the beach and restaurants. We greatly appreciated the ability to bring our dog as well. We did have to bring a considerable amount of supplies, like toilet paper, paper towel, pots and pans for making food. The need to bring all these items was only informed 2 weeks prior to the actual stay itself. Had we taken a plane, I dont know how I would have brought everything we needed. The apartment is on the third floor above a kitty hawk kites store, which is great for purchases. The down side of this is that all our supplies and luggage has to be carried up 3 flights of stairs. My father had a knee injury at the time and this posed a problem. All of the benefits of this location were overshadowed by management. One night we lost power in 4/5 rooms. We could not get ahold of the rental company. We contacted VRBO, they couldn't get a hold of the company. When finally contacted, they only text messaged us which was frustrating to communicate with. Since one room retained power, they considered it a partial power loss and simply refused to come help. They wouldn't even tell us where the fuse box was to fix it ourselves. This affected our stay, my father couldn't use a breathing device at night. It was difficult to use the windowless bathrooms since there was no power. The wifi went out. We didnt even shower since it was a safety hazard. The next day I spoke to the property manger who did not even know we lost power. She defended their refusal to help when we lost power. Additionally, she was very rude and petty in a childish sort of way. Which was very surprising since we spent thousands to stay there and simply being kind would have likely help pacify the situation. The juvenile tone of the conversation really shocked me and you could have the nicest product in the world but if you are rude to your customers, it doesnt matter. Subsequently, I did a yelp search on the company and discovered some poor reviews, not like the 5 stars avg on VRBO. Basically, it seems like they have enough rentals that they make their money and if you have a problem, they dont care. The rental appeared clean but we easily found someone's sandals under the couch, crumbs under the cushions indicating poor cleaning. Additionally, I hate to say this but on the first night we did see a giant cockroach on the wall however, we did not see any bugs the remaining duration of the stay. None the less this put me on edge for days.
