Disappointed Stay in North Stoneington

This is an Average motel, if you want a friendly, warm, hospitality service oriented property this is not the place for you. Not our type of hotel / motel. Room had a musty smell with a dose of heavy cleaner, TV had 5 channels, and the "ICE police" lady made a point to come tell me I could not fill up my coolers before even asking us any questions. We had FULL coolers that were to heavy to carry to put a little ice on top to keep our food chilled. We had just arrived and were staying 4 nights ( $800. ) versus $2 worth of ice, ice for guests? Go Figure. Well, we survived but will not return.

On a positive note, the sheets were clean, staff were friendly, and it was quiet. The problems I had were; the wallpaper was peeling off on the wall and near the ceilings, there are rusty nails or screws in the ceilings, there is a strong musty scent in the room, and the deluxe continental breakfast that they advertise consists of bagels, bread, waffle batter, cereal, and yogurt. It’s very basic and my partner with a gluten allergy could only have a small yogurt cup. We took the shuttle to Foxwoods and the seat were stained. We also weren’t able to connect to WiFi in the room. All the outlets in the room were loose which could potentially be dangerous. Not a bad place to stay for 1 night.

Room was clean. WiFi did not work the entire stay. Reported that to the front desk and was just told “there must be a lot of devices connected”. The cleaning staff was so loud first thing in the morning yelling down the halls to each other at 7 am. The walls are thin so you can hear everyone nearby.

Good qualities of the hotel were.. fast check in, clean. So I went online to book a reservation at this property, I see it had hot breakfast included but the only option was waffles, oatmeal, and bread ….. NO EGGS,bacon ! What happened to the protein? Next I go into the room, turn the TV on and the tv is not working. No channels.

This property was very unclean and smelled horrible. We did not stay due to the level of urine and chemical smell, with tobacco and weed. Staff was very rude and unhelpful.

Room was very clean and comfortable. The only complaint I have is that the TV was rather limited regarding the choice of channels and there was no guide for the channels or how to access even the most basic channels to get news or weather, etc

Do not pay extra for a suite if you want sleep. The only ice machine in the whole hotel is right outside the doors of the suites in same hallway. Be prepared to hear people getting ice all night and morning while you try to sleep.

The check in person seemed quite frazzled. The phone kept ringing of the hook and seemed to stress her even more. Then to be told Wi-Fi might not work because the hotel was booked solid. Not my problem. Then Sunday morning we were without cable.

Needed a quick night to stay along our drive. All hotels were expensive and this was over $200/night but the cheapest option which is why we booked. I would have expected it to cost less. You could hear the folks upstairs walking around and every time their AC turned on. Rooms were old and outdated but clean. Breakfast was included but lackluster.
