An adventure and not in a good way
Apologies to the owners as I’m sure they are very nice people. These issues likely stem from the property management company. I’m low maintenance and my favorite place to stay is a tent. I’ve never written a bad review before. First the positives. The place is cozy, and the view is beautiful. You walk down the stairs and you are on the beach. There was also running water, electricity, and the front door does lock. Unfortunately, there were no sheets, towels, toilet paper, trash bags or cleaning supplies. As I would come to find out the next day, this info is in the fine print. No one asked if I needed linens at the check in site that is 10 minutes away. I would discover you can rent sheets for an additional 75 dollars (or go buy them). When I said most people don’t travel with multiple linen sets I was told “actually they do.” If you’re one of these people who carries linens and enjoys hitting up the stores for 4 packs of TP on your vacation, this is your spot. Now to be fair they do give you a “starter pack” that has a small roll of toilet paper, two little trash bags, two circles of soap and a whole lot of brochures about local activities. The communication issues were ultimately pinned on using a third party to book. That’s you vrbo. I love vrbo and use it frequently. I hope you take down Elliot Beach Rentals until they get things up to standards your customers are used to. Unfortunately the place was quite dirty. Lots of sand on the floor, dishes put away dirty, cockroach or two, main tub doesn’t drain. There’s a lot of rules about leaving the place clean. I put a lot of work in the day I left to try to make that happen. Best I can tell they are relying on one party to clean the place before the next group comes in without much intervention. Anyway, enough complaining. Beautiful view but please book something else.
