Checked into our room, and after unloading everything we discovered the lack of housekeeping! The floors were dirty black. I complained to front desk and he gave me a mop, still black! I asked for cleaner and rags, still black! FD offered to move me into another room but after I inspected it, it had filthy floors as well! I ended up going to Family Dollar and spending $30 in cleaner to get the flooring clean. The hotel is extremely dated! It smelled moldy and the sofa needs to go to a landfill as it smelled horrible! I am pretty generous with leaving housekeeping a tip if the room is clean but not this time! They need to properly train there staff or hire new ones….

Our stay was good. The room was clean. The only downfall of our stay was we would rather have fitted sheets on the bed mattress versus a regular flat sheet. Every time we moved in the bed the sheet would come off exposing the mattress.

The first room we were given was not very clean and the water in the sink never drained out. They moved us to a slightly cleaner room with a bathroom door that was hard to close and would get stuck easily. The towels did not smell clean. Weird smell in the room. Just not clean. The employee at the front desk was kind. There is no breakfast. Just coffee and maybe muffins. The stairs outside need some paint and new flooring. The whole place needs renovating.

Serviceable Room, Desperately in Need of TLC

Way overpriced, but to be expected during their ‘season’. Conveniently walkable to one of the Mackinaw Island ferry stations- literally next door. 10 minute walk to downtown Mackinaw City for shopping and dining. Room had an awkward hodgepodge of furniture, but bed was firm and pillows were soft. The AC unit was able to keep up with the humidity and did a fine job cooling the room. Good water temperature and pressure. Overall serviceable room but desperately in need of some TLC. Lavern from housekeeping made a not so great room better with little touches that were appreciated, and Laura from reception was pleasant and very helpful.

I expected more. It need to be updated. We had a 💜 shaped tub that did not work. The handles were removed. It was close to 90 degrees when we got there and the room was hotter. It took almost 2 hours to cool of the room and remove the humidity. For $265 for one night I expected more

Found a piece of excrement floating in the murky hot tub. Pool area is filthy and in need of maintenance. Staff was friendly and accommodating, but building is clearly showing age. Room was comfortable, view was pleasant, beds were clean.

It was a place to sleep. Fairly clean, safe, quiet, no carpet. The weather was beautiful and the island great, so the room filled its intended purpose: a place to sleep for a few hours. Mission accomplished. The bathroom and sink were not as clean as I would have preferred, the water was hot, although we didn't have any towels. Staff were quick to remedy and very apologetic, just an oversight. Breakfast was coffee and a muffin but it held us over until we could get somewhere with more protein. The Arnold ferry is literally right next door so a short walk at the end of a very long one. All in all, a place to sleep.

Why would any decent hotel business offer this?

Dirty. Dusty. Room had spiders and webs around door and light fixtures. I can’t believe we stayed.Gave us something to laugh about I guess.It was so late we weren’t in the mood to object and were momentarily entertained by the spiders moving up and down on their webs in the room. Lamp shade by the bed spot stained. The bathroom was interesting.box toilet paper fixture falling out of the wall,wall paper peeling off.Counters coming apart at the seams with moldy areas.Everything felt wet from humidity(toilet paper to bedsheets).I find out later that it is expensive probably by 2x booking through hotels.com. The AC unit was dirty. Eyes watered and noses dripped after it was turned on.Noticeable stains on the sheets at the base of one of the beds and chair. Bathroom door edge looked like maybe it was kicked in too many times or some rat chewed through it. It was so late by the time we checked in (midnight) that we decided to just smash up the spiders we noticed and tolerate the rest until morning. We brought most belongings back to the vehicle in the morning and went for breakfast at a nice place elsewhere for a couple hours before coming back to use the toilet and leave before check out time. Hotel maid or person, unlocked and opened the door in the morning when we were getting ready to go, seemed surprised, quick sorry and closed the door again. Perhaps my standards have become too high over time, I don’t know, but I know I have stayed in much nicer motels for less than I paid.

Chech in is at 3 pm but our room wasn't ready when we arrived at 5pm so they gave us a different room. My sister's bed had an old blood stained top sheet, tv didn't work, took 40 min for someone to come and fix it, bathroom door didn't close, floor so dirty my white socks turned black, no table in the room but had 2 table chairs, very dirty, run down. Balcony rail was spider infested. You didn't want to get close to the railing. Also had 2 spiders in the corners of our room. There's holes in the walls, peeling wallpaper, oh I could go on...Don't be fooled by the pictures. I would never stay there again. This place gives dirty a whole new deffinition of dirty. I also had a 1 cent withdraw on my check card from them. I don't know what thats all about, I didn't call them yet. Do yourself a favor and spend more money for a better place to stay.

I don't think the room was cleaned before we got there. when we went to bed there was sand in the bed under the covers. Nobody told us we had to request the room be cleaned while we were out for the day, so when we returned to the room it hadn't been cleaned and towels had not been changed. They did take care of that the next day, but they should have told us that when we checked in. We have a lake house and I killed more spiders in our room at the hotel in 3 days then I do in a week at home.

Could be much better

Good location but other than that no extra features -food was having just muffins and a coffee with microwave only 1 in common. Rooms without view were suffocated and having no balconies and if you open windows, there were lot of mosquitoes. They were not having even 1 additional blanket in the hotel. Not a worth place to stay for my next trip
