Logrono, capital of the La Rioja region in northern Spain, has great food, good wine and so much #History. An overnight stop on the Camino de Santiago and surrounded by vineyards, it’s a beautiful city. Construction on this stunning cathedral began in the 15th century and wasn’t completed until the 18th century. The most striking feature is the twin Baroque towers that take on a golden glow of an afternoon. The tapas bars of Logrono are well worth a night of bar hopping and along with some time in the vineyards and wineries, it’s worth a couple of days on the itinerary.
if in La Rioja 21-23 of July or the last weekend in September and you have some free time, take a trip to Anguino you will see some very interesting local dances.
also worth going if you enjoy abseiling or canyoning

Logroño was home for me for exactly 12 months, and it was one of the best years of my life. The capital of La Rioja, wine country in the north of Spain, Logroño has it all. A beautiful little old quarter with more pincho (tapas) bars than you can count, Logroño has long been a stopping point for people walking the famous Camino de Santiago. A small city, situated between many other great cities and towns in the north, it is a good place to base yourself while traveling. It helps that it’s incredible cheap, has amazing food and red wine and it’s almost completely devoid of tourists.
