The staff was very helpful, but my original room smelled like cigarette smoke and when I went to open the window I noticed the windows were so incredibly dirty I could hardly see out of them. Staff helped me change rooms and my second room smelled less smokey (still smelled like mildew and smoke) but the windows were equally as dirty. Questionable people outside and felt generally unsafe. Wouldn’t stay here again.

I enjoyed the room and some things outdated but it is what it is. I was there for work and the windows have all failed units and couldn't even see my car in the parking lot. Also the top unit I could wiggle and almost fall out. Restaurant was great and breakfast

The room was spacious, has comfortable beds and was clean. The pool was nicely sized and the sitting area just past the lobby was cute. The whole hotel was dark though, the halls, rooms even the lobby. There is no central overhead light in the room so even With vanity light by the door, lamps and corner light on it was dark. Hotel needs more outlets and nightstands.

It was a big hotel, I ask for a room close to the entrance with no stairs. The room was not far from the entrance for an able bodied individual but as I told them I walk with a cane. So from parking to my room it was longer than I care for. I ask for these things at the time of reserving, so I see no reason that I was not accommodated otherwise the room was fine.

Refrigerator issues and unclean pool during week.

I had an issue with my refrigerator at the start. I got it running but it wouldn't turn back on after it shut off unless you fussed with the knob inside. All my stuff was warm the next morning. English was not the mechanics first language and was difficult to communicate with. I eventually got him to swap out the fridge, but then I wound up with a fridge that wouldn't stop running and all my stuff froze overnight. I showed up to the hotel on a Tuesday and the pool was dirty. I had a pool view from my room. Didn't see anybody attempt to clean it until Thursday afternoon, so I guess they just clean the pool for the weekend rushes of people.

Pool Hazards, Gym has No AC,pillows are like rock

Hotel is big and has plenty ammenemties but they all have really neglected faults No ventalation or real ac in the gym , it was 78 in the gym with ac full blast and a tiny fan , couldn’t workout as well cause I was overheating really quickly, Pool was dirty , broken chairs smelled like electrical fire near where the pools electrical area is , the paint and pool sealing is cracking and chipping making it a hazard for scrapes and cuts Beds were comfy but the pillows are literally like sleeping on lumpy rocks . Horrible bring your own pillows, fitted sheets didn’t fit bed. The cheap rate is the only reason I’ll come back. And the fact it’s a large hotel and don’t have to deal with too many people being loud or anything

Expected better from Sonesta.

I expected better from the Sonesta brand. Our room would not cool even with the AC set at 66. The room smelled of smoke and the linens had stains. There’s no elevator which makes getting to the room difficult for someone with mobility issues. Overall it was overpriced for the state of the property, which was very rundown

It’s a very old red lion. The property needs some serious work. However the staff were incredibly nice and courteous. Couldn’t have asked for a better front desk person.

Not impressed by other people’s behavior

We attempted to check in and it took 30 minutes because the front desk kept checking in other people before us and we had no idea why. It was going well once we got to our room, until we tried to go to sleep at 9:30 pm and there were parties above us and screaming and pounding and running until after midnight and after we called twice to the front desk. There was marijuana smell and my dogs were going nuts at all of the raucous. We had an early morning and we’ll just say we aren’t staying at this location ever again.
