I was looking for a spot to get away for a few days as a bit of a sabbatical and mental recharge, and this place was the perfect place. I'm a photographer and wanted easy access to the National Park. Since this is on a bit of a downtown bypass, it made getting to the Park in the mornings a breeze. It is off the beaten path enough for you to feel the quiet, but is super close to many things downtown - if you desire. It was super clean and came with just enough amenities to make me feel comfortable right off the bat. The small kitchen is great for making a lunch after a morning hike. It's nice that it is on the top floor so you don't have people above you - makes for pretty quiet nights. It's not the most up-to-date, but, like I said, I is super clean and the location is perfect. You can get up to Newfound Gap in just over 35 minutes and Roaring Fork Motor trail is 2 min up the road.
The front desk staff was great when I needed a parking pass, and parking was a breeze.
A few things of note, although they do provide you with a few basic amenities, bring your shampoo, as that is not provided (I learned that the hard way). Also, the internet is available, but is relatively slow - so if you're looking to work while you are there - you may want to pass and just enjoy the views.
Overall, I'll stay here again as it was a super spot to basecamp while you are enjoying the National Park or all the things Gatlinburg has to offer!
