"Staff on arrival excellent and very helpful. Recommended a very good restaurant for evening meal, The hall down to our room was dark and unlit, Room very small with no character, not one picture on the wall. No place to put your clothes and only room to hang a couple of jackets or dresses. The bed sheets were clean but barely covered the mattress and when you went to sleep certainly didn't cover you. Pulled the quilts out from there storage spot under the hanging section close to the floor and discovered that they had no quilt cover on and they were dirty and stained and didn't smell very nice, Had no option but to use them for the night. Bathroom had mold on the ceiling and around the skirting there was dust and dirt. No in room safe or glasses for water only some paper cups. Tea /coffee makings non existent, Very disappointed with the overall state of this hotel and having stayed at other properties in the chain this fell well below standard. Needless to say we checked out the following morning very unhappy visitors. It saddens me to have to write such a review."

"Everything about La Villa Eugene was outstanding! The wonderful room and bathroom were very spacious and beautifully furnished. These attributes were exceeded by the warm and friendly staff who gave us exceptional service from arrival to departure. The location of the property is ideal, within walking distance of many of the champagne houses, including Moet and Chandon. Breakfast also was outstanding with a great selection including delicious croissant. The staff greeted us with fresh squeezed orange juice and any type of coffee we wanted. We highly recommend this exceptional hotel!"

"We had a nice 4 night stay at ibis Epernay Centre Ville. The room was standard ibis so no surprises except that the room was a bit bigger than normally. The breakfast room / bar was also standard ibis. The location was great. It is close to the railway station and Avenue de Champagne. There is a good choice of restaurants close by. The best thing was that it was on a beautiful little peaceful square, which did not have any traffic. Lovely. If we came back to Epernay we would most probably stay there again."

"The staff was wonderful and kind, the hotel is clean and quiet, BUT THEY ARE USING THE HOTEL TO HOME HOMELESS RUFFIANS... Not very pleasant to have to go through them smoking and drinking in the front door of the property. It's a pity to see the poor staff dealing with this situation..."
