The mountains to the left were formed by the collision, and the fertile (green) valley between the ridges was formed by deep sea deposits as the mountains on either side eroded and broke down. Pretty cool to see the stark difference in vegetation between the ridges and just outside of them. There are signs to get you to this particular viewpoint, and an English description of the scene once you get here.
