Host was unaccommodating. We politely asked for early check in, and we couldn’t, and later check out and denied also. Typical check in is 3pm, but this rental was 4pm, and typical check out is 11am, and this rental is 10am. Their response was the cleaners needed 6 hour window to clean. If only that was done. The rental was very dirty. Food crumbs in the sink, never vacuumed, steps were dirty, kitchen floor filthy, and I know this because I had to wipe up leaking water from the refrigerator with paper towels, and it was brown. This rental had only the very minimum. We don’t even get ice because the ice machine is broken. We had 2 ice trays for the weekend with 6 people. We had to run to the store for 2 bags. The bedrooms were nice size, comfortable beds, but recommend a night stand on both sides of each bed. Had no where to place my water bottle, cell phone etc. In all my years using VRBO, I’ve never had to put down a refundable 5,000 deposit. It took 2 weeks to finally get a refund, and I was told that the homeowner sets the damage deposit. Way too high for the quality of this home. This home also has the very minimum. We had ONE garbage bag for the whole weekend. I asked the host for someone to drop off more and she said look downstairs, which didn’t have any. Also, the host doesn’t want to pay extra for recycling, which is very disappointing.
