Lovely property but we were locked out of it after one night of our stay
We loved this property but there were serious issues with communicating with the property manager. First off, they property manager did not send details of the check in process until about 15 minutes after the check in time on the day of check in. We had previously requested more information before the check in, but these requests were left unanswered. Once we checked in using the keycode on the door lock, we unpacked, bought food and had a great stay the first night. On the second day, we left for our family events and, upon returning the second night, the key code on the door did not work. We repeatedly tried to reach the property manager via text and phone, but calls went to voice mail (voice mailbox was always full). The property manager advised us to get a key from a location, but we did not find one. At some point, the property manager failed to continue responding and we were stuck outside the home with our belongings inside. We had our family including my 80 year old Dad, unable to get to our medicines, clothes, etc. We contacted VRBO support and advised to self book a hotel and submit receipt to seek a refund (which we are still working on). The next day, we returned to the rental property and continued trying to contact the property manager... who STILL has not responded. However, a neighbor who supports the property owner came over when we were waiting outside... it turns out that the neighbor had a spare key to the home. This was the worst experience we've had.
