Quick trip to the Metro Station

Pros: proximity to metro and breakfast staff
Cons: unfortunately room size can not be fixed but front desk courtesy can
Location: Metro, multiple restaurants
We picked this hotel for brand recognition and proximity to the Metro. Price and location were perfect for us. Was a little disappointed in the room size. For two adults and two teenagers this was a very small room. We had to turn sideways to pass each other. The bathroom was very tight. And I'm pretty confident that the floors weren't sweep all week as my daughters dark hair accumulated in the corners. Everything else was kept up nicely though. My kids brought blankets from home and they were folded neatly when we returned each day. The breakfast bar had a nice variety each day and the staff were always extremely friendly. The front desk not so much. We had forgotten about a daily limit on our card and the lady acted like we were trying to get one over on her. All that needed to be done was make a transaction on my card and my husbands. I called the bank the next day and fixed that. I had just forgotten to call and say we were on vacation. Needless to say we stayed away from the front desk the rest of the week.

Accomadating hotel. Great location.

This hotel met our needs. Clean and comfortable rooms and very quiet. All the questions we had were answered and extremely helpful to our needs by front desk especially Chris . Shuttle service great to metro.

The staff at our Holiday Inn were the best!

The hotel was under remodeling and the upgrade will be great when done. A continental breakfast would really improve the stay. The coffee in the lobby was not great and a place to hang out would have been nice. Longer pool hours would allow us to swim before or after our trip to the city. Everyone was super nice and helpful and polite and happy! They should be told what a great job they do! Thank you!

hotel close to the metro

Pros: restaurant was good. Staff was nice. Having the shuttle was good to get to the metro.
Cons: Bathtub had poor drainage - no towel racks.
Location: what got us through visiting DC was the metro - parking for tourists is at a minimum in DC.
Had to change rooms- air conditioner was not working correctly and bed was so soft we rolled to the middle.

Great Staff

Pros: Very helpful staff and the free shuttle to the train station
Cons: Cleanness of hotel overall and rooms, improve restaurant conditions and train employees.
Location: Holiday Inn Washington DC-Greenbelt MD, Greenbelt. It's near most DC attractions and monuments.
The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful, but the room was not very clean. Some of the guests were very loud late at night, which is no fault of the hotel, but it was not a good night sleep. Prior to traveling to DC, we stayed at another Holiday Inn in New York and it was very different. The hotel and rooms were very clean. We had issues at the restaurant in the hotel. When we walked in, we were not treated with courtesy, and the person at the door made us feel like we were an inconvenience for him. Even though the person at the door did not have a good attitude, I don’t blame him because he was doing everything. The food was OK and at the end, we were overcharged. It was late at night and me and my family had to wait for a while because nobody was around to question the charges, which were ultimately corrected.

Terribly noisy

Pros: relative ease of access to UMPC
Cons: Shower repair. Control of excessive noise level.
Location: IHop restaurant Convenient small shopping center.
Holiday Inn Washington DC-Greenbelt MD, On May 8, 2015 we stayed in room #413, and had the worst experience in any hotel in the US or in dozens of hotels we have stayed in world-wide. Showering was impossible since the shower control was so loose as to be non-operational and appearing to fall off. Things became worse beginning in the early evening because the halls began to be continuously repopulated with noisy young people. At ca. 9:30, and again at 11:00 p.m., we asked them to keep the noise down, but to little effect. At 1:30 a.m. it was still impossible to sleep because the ever-changing group kept talking and repeatedly knocking on a nearby door for entrance. What was going on in those rooms one can only guess. However, open calling the front desk they informed us that a policeman was there. We never heard or saw him/her, and the noise and knocking was only slightly diminished. If these were prayer meetings these people were attending, or if they were worshiping a deity, it certainly was different from those common to most Greenbelt churches. On check-out we told the desk of the events, and asked if they would at least repair the shower for the next occupants. Whereas, they offered us a free breakfast we declined, and left with the worst experience. In future we will stay away not only from this place, but will avoid other Holiday Inns.

Might be over rated but a value none the less.

Pros: An excellent value for the money. Reasonably clean, warm and comfortable. Plenty of hot water in the shower which had an adjustable spray pattern.
Cons: Rooms should have a detailed maintenance and equipment inspection as well as a major cleaning to cover things like the tops and bottoms of things.
Location: The hotel offers a shuttle to the Metro but we found it to be an easy drive with ample parking for a trivial price. Wendys and IHOP almost next door.
The room was reasonably comfortable for our week long stay. I think I expected a little more based on the reviews I read, but the hotel is a solid value in the 3 star market. It is not exceptional but certainly a high average or better. The hotel is on the older side and shows its wear in less obvious places like worn out power outlets. I am going to list the deficiencies I observed but I emphasize the hotel is a value and better than most. The staff is easy to work with and is very helpful. I would definitely stay at this hotel again as the two things that really matter to me are that the room is reasonably clean, especially the shower and that the beds are comfortable, clean and bug free. On our first night we discovered a piece of trash under the edge of the bed that was probably too big to go up a vacuum but overall the room passed initial inspection. In the light of day we discovered a white splatter stain on the front of the lounge chair that we didn't want to imagine what it was and so we stayed away from the chair but never mentioned it to the front desk until our last night. Which is also when we mentioned that the plastic toilet seat had two cracks that pinched backsides when getting up. Finally the bar entrance and parking lot got loud a couple nights once with a revving car and once an argument but hotel staff said security does get involved as soon as they are notified.

Very nice Hotel

Pros: Close restaurants, Free Internet, Quiet
I've been staying at this hotel on business trips for the last 10 years. For the money in the DC area you just can't beat Greenbelt Holiday Inn. Clean comfortable rooms, friendly staff, exercise room, laundry the hotel can't be beat.
