I had a great experience staying at Super 8 New Castle. The hotel was clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, which made my stay very relaxing. The radio and alarm were not plugged in and when I plugged it in I could not set the time. The TV had very poor colors and the Guide did not work. The AC was difficult to adjust for fan speed. The bathroom towels and soaps were not changed during my 2 nights.and bed linens were not. The breakfast area has empty coffee dispensers, did not have knives to cut the waffles, there was no cream or milk for the coffee. The cereal dispenser was empty. The napkin boxes were empty. There was no one around to ask for help. The staff seemed friendly but incompetent.

The front office was clean and the clerk was very polite. I requested a first floor room, I am disabled. When we opened the door to the hallway to get to our room the odor hit hard. It smelled like mold, mildew, a lingering smell of marijuana, and cleaning products trying to mask the smell. We instantly felt ill. We took a few steps into the hallway and the carpet was drenched. Water came up over my shoe. We went to the office and the clerk offered us a second floor room. We declined. There was a man at the far end of the building sitting on a lawn chair with beer cans scattered on the ground around him. We did not feel safe. It appears that they are working on improving the property but it was not clean other than the office.

It seemed fairly clean but a little run down. For instance broken knob on sink. No real issues. Had a fridge and a microwave that was perfect but the coffee maker had no coffee, tea,etc to use it. Could not check out breakfast area because there was a lot of people in tiny space. No elevator. Had my room on 3rd floor but being old, I knew I could not get my luggage up the stairs so they were kind enough to move me to first floor.Very good price. Got what I paid for so overall satisfied.
