El escondite del ermitaño

Hermoso apartamento completamente remodelado en un edificio de tres pisos construido en 1859. Ubicado en el histórico Westside Springfield, IL. Cerca del centro, Washington Park, sitios históricos y tiendas. La casa fue construida originalmente en mil ochocientos cincuenta y nueve como una casa unifamiliar. En algún momento a finales de los años treinta se convirtió en un triplex. Cuando renovamos la propiedad, la dejamos como un triplex.
Hermit's Hideaway se encuentra en la parte trasera de una casa encantadora (peculiar), en su mayoría renovada, de 1859. Céntricamente ubicado, aproximadamente a una milla del centro de la ciudad, hospitales y Washington Park.
Hay pisos de mosaico y mosaico de azulejos en la cocina. Un montón de toques personalizados en todo. Muy tranquilo, acogedor y aislado. Vistas del atardecer desde la sala de estar.
Precioso estanque con gradas koi en el patio delantero, en primavera y verano flores interminables. ¡No usamos ningún veneno en el patio, y hemos creado un gran jardín de mariposas y cada año tenemos más y más mariposas! Los monarcas son Swallowtails son los más abundantes, pero tenemos una gran variedad. En el patio trasero está nuestro gallinero, actualmente solo tenemos 7 pollos tacaños que no ponen. La primavera de 2020 tendremos 5 pollitos nuevos y esperamos que sean más cooperativos que nuestras viejas. :)
Estamos a punto de terminar con una remodelación total de la casa / tri-plex, ha sido un tri-plex desde la década de 1940. Vivimos arriba. El proyecto de renovación general está completo en un 95%. Este lugar es una oportunidad para alojarse en una casa verdaderamente única, en un lote de acres en medio del lado histórico del oeste. También poseemos un dúplex en la propiedad y lo configuramos también como alquileres de airbnb. Cuando el clima coopera, el patio trasero es irresistible. Ponemos en un huerto gigante cada año. Tenemos perales, duraznos, cerezos y manzanos, así como también fresas, frambuesas y moras.

Interesting and enjoyable setting

We came to find Abraham Lincoln. We also found a very interesting property with fountains and many unique constructions and more history than we realized. (Ulysses Grant lived nearby.) We recommend this place.

Our new favorite Springfield stay!

My husband and I come to Springfield each summer for the Route 66 festival. This was our first time using VRBO and our first time staying here. WOW. Instant favorite! Everything about this place was absolutely perfect for us. I knew it would be great based on previous reviews, but it still exceeded my expectations! It's much more spacious than I had anticipated. It's so cozy and comfortable, and the decor is so well-curated and cohesive throughout the whole space! Such a vibe. We had everything we needed. The patio out back was great for relaxing. We met Justin and Elena and they are fantastic people. You can tell they put a LOT of thought and *love* into their home. We will definitely be back. Thank you so much!

Key West Vibes

Extremely easy check in process, and owners were very responsive ahead of check in. As soon as you pull in the driveway, this place has total Key West vibes, from the gorgeous lily pad and koi pond, to the free range chickens milling around. Once you walk inside the unit, it totally felt like I was in a cute Florida Keys home. It has an eclectic vibe, and vibrant colors! The bed was the most comfortable VRBO rental bed we’ve ever slept in!! We hope to rent again!

Great place

Very beautiful!! Loved all the artwork and the details of the place. The outside is stunning!! I found 15 little ducks in the place,don’t know how many more there were but being a Jeep family is was a great touch. I would stay again!!

Amazing, eclectic, beautiful property

The front yard is filled with flowers, then when you walk to the back yard there are more flowers, a koi pond, chicken coop and a sitting area. Inside was colorful and filled with beautiful decorations on the walls. The tile work in the bathroom is fun and leads to a deep bathtub for relaxing. Bed was comfortable. The only bad thing was that we only stayed one night, we will be back.

Wonderful stay!

Wish I could rate this property higher than a 5 star! Very relaxing, private and clean. We loved our stay here and hope to return in the future. There is also a great coffee shop less than a block away. Highly recommend 👌

The coolest place we’ve ever stayed!

This place was like an arboretum in the city. We had coffee with koi! The art and decor and craftsmanship was superb; we kept finding new fun things that we hadn’t seen. The hosts were very nice and pleasant to talk to. It was clear that a lot of love and care went into this space. We are looking for a reason to go to Springfield again just to go back. :)

The unit itself was very very nice and clean. The property itself was awful. Yard full of junk and not well kept at all. Our unit had a small open porch outside our door that you used to walk in to the unit and it was awful. Junk, ashtray with used cigarettes, old tools and anything u could think of and looked like had been like that a long time. The backyard “paradise” was the same way. Unfortunately this rental is not in a nice neighborhood. I’m sad to report this as they appear to be nice people

Wonderful apartment and hosts

The apartment was wonderful. Great neighborhood and convenient location. It was big and spacious and had everything you need. Bed and pillows were very comfortable and quiet. Parking was available. Justin and Elena were so nice and gracious. I give them my highest recommendation.
