The dirtiest hotel rooms everrrr. Had to be moved twice. Hair, dirty bathroom, mirrors and faucets. The locks were broken in BOTH rooms. Found pills and change in the window sill of the 2nd room. Powder residue on the remote and TV guide on the dresser. When I talked to the owner, he didn't take any responsibility for it and when I asked for a refund, he said hed move me to yet ANOTHER room and I said no, I want a safe and clean room. He gave me $10 off and called my room after to tell me it was a 'safe hotel'. And I said, it's safe when it's clean and the locks on the doors work. Just AWFUL. Never staying there again.

I can not rate the breakfast as I didnt stay to eat breakfast. The lady at the front desk was very kind but when I checked into my room it just did not feel right. It was very dirty (carpet, desk chair) , there was a smell that was hard to describe and I did not feel comfortable taking my shoes off in my room so I gathered my things and went back to tell the lady at the desk I was checking out. She offered to change rooms for me but it wasn't just the room, The Motel had a very uneasy feel for me personally so I chose to leave and travel further north until I found something else.

The check in staff was wonderful. The room…not so much. Very dated, room smelled! Thought at first that it was just musty but as in there for a bit, smelled more like cat urine smell. The toilet was black in the bottom. The microwave looked like it was from 1950. Could hardly see out the windows since there was so much condensation.

The person at the desk was very friendly and helpful to indicate the closest door to our room. The beds were comfortable and the bedding and bathroom were clean. The facility is not well maintained; needed painting inside, hole in the wall, unsightly landscaping, exterior paint failing.The room smelled musty. Rated below average because it was not up to standards we are accustomed to.

The building is a former AmericInn, which looks almost identical to the AmericInn in Bemidji. The free breakfast was less than usual for hotels like this, but okay. For a more complete breakfast, I ate at the Hungry Duck in downtown Black Duck, which was good. The room was clean but could use some updating.
