Lots of black mold, chipped paint and rust in bathroom. The staff is nice but the bathroom area was disgusting with lots of black mold around the tub and paint pealing off the walls. Kind of disgusting. The bathroom appliances should have been replaced about forty years ago.

They have various different room options available. We originally were supposed to be placed in the section that resemble a 1970s motel room. It was a small, dark, outdated room. If it were just two golfers, looking for a cheap broom, it would’ve been OK. But, I had my grandson with me and I did not want him to sleep in that room. So, they also have some rooms that sit right on the beach. The view was fantastic and the rooms were nicer.

Excellent stay!

The room was on the small side, but the Sunset Lodge is still family run after many years, and they went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and at home! Not to be omitted is the extensive breakfast, beyond the norm, and the location across the street from face rock for good photography.

the fridge made noise all night...bathroom so small walker could not fit and no sink in the bathroom..the bed was terrible, the place is running down the laundry room filthy and needs new appliances..the coffee maker was broken..We will never go there again....Breakfast was a joke...

The welcome during check in was GREAT! The view was AMAZING! Lord Bennett's Restaurant next door was delicious, and our waitress was charming and funny! The room are rustic but not in a bad way. And the breakfast was fine. Would recommend this place!!

The hotel has a beautiful ocean view and is just a short walk to the beach. Parking was easy, and the breakfast was very good, with paper bags available to take food to go, which was convenient. The room was nice, though it had a slight smell. I really enjoyed the indoor pool area—it was clean and very comfortable.

This motel is definitely not modern, but pretty charming. And the view from our room was AMAZING! I am forever spoiled by getting to see the ocean through the sliding glass door of our room. Cute louvered screen system next to the door to let in fresh air and ocean sounds. Wish they had a fridge & microwave. Breakfast was included but pretty minimal. This was a pleasant atay. It's got beautiful views! I think you can usually walk down to the beach, but the stairs were closed. Super quiet area.

Nice walk along the Beach. Front desk very helpful with information. Nice big quiet m, comfortable room. We had a balcony with a partial view! Had a good meal at Lord Bennetts and the place makes you feel special.

Property is BADLY in need of a refresh. Exterior is nice - interior/rooms are beat up and rough. No cell service. For those with mobility issues READ THIS: the view directly from our room was BEAUTIFUL, with Facerock and the Wizard’s Hat directly in view. HOWEVER, to access the beach you have to walk a block up the road and DOWN 10 flights of increasingly sketchy stairs. Town is just a few minutes away with ample shopping and dining (particularly in Old Town).
