Serene getaway

Able to unwind and exhale. Beautiful home and view once you arrived. Large kitchen and eating area allowed for enjoyable family time. Driving to the location was somewhat challenging due to all the winding curves going up the mountain. Appreciated the elevator to go to the different floors.

Sunset rest

Wonderful location and Great Lake views. House had almost everything. Great beds, plenty of indoor and outdoor seating, lots of fridge space, well appointed kitchen, fun and plentiful lake float toys. Really enjoyed our stay and hope to come back again

Fabulous home for large family

The owners of this home have obviously put a great deal of love into furnishing and equipping it. The kitchen has everything anyone could ever dream of using to prepare or serve meals. We were also thrilled with the assortment of SUPs and floats in the boathouse, as well as the life jackets in every size. The view is one of the best on Lake Lure and the neighbors were just the right amount of friendly, letting us know they were there is we needed anything. My only significant criticism is of Yonder's one bath towel per guest policy. In fairness, I was warned when I signed the rental agreement. I just didn't expect that someone would have removed or locked away all the beach towels that would normally be in a lake house because it is impossible to enjoy a lake house with no towels. I didn't want to dry the seats on the rental boat with the white bath towel provided for my shower. While the advance warning may work for those who drive, we were flying with carry-on luggage, so I had to go buy towels. At this price point, the inconvenience of no towels is ridiculous and will prevent me from renting a house managed by Yonder again.

Spectacular Sunset Rest

Truly a magical and relaxing home with spectacular views. We cooked great meals, played fun games, took boat rides and explored the lake. Found little coves to float in and to climb the rope swings. Did some hiking. Enjoyed some lazy time as well. Loved every minute of it:)

I can’t say enough about this house. The location of course is amazing. When I walked into the living room and saw the view of the lake that I would enjoy for a week it took my breath away. The house had everything we needed and more to enjoy ourselves fully. They even have an elevator so that my father in law who is in poor health could stay here as well. The game room is a perfect place for the kids to get away from the adults and have a good time. Although the adults enjoyed it just as much. The beds were very comfortable. They have top of the line appliances in the kitchen. There is so much to do nearby and we felt like a week was not even enough time and wished we could stay longer. This is a true luxury home.

Life is definitely better at the Lake

House is in a great location. Beds were comfortable. Well equipped kitchen. Plenty of parking. Did not realize two bedrooms were totally interior, with no windows. Also that two bedrooms shared a jack-and-Jill bathroom. This was not a great problem, but it should be made clearer in the listing. The house could use a good pressure washing, but overall it was in good shape. We had a leak in the master bath, but it was attended to in a very timely manner.

What a beautiful house! From top to bottom every room was great. We stayed in for all our meals cause the view was gorgeous and the kitchen had everything needed. There was eight of us for our nieces wedding. My in-laws were in awe with the house. Great and easy dealing with the property management company. Definitely beyond a five Star experience!

Lake Lure Week

This was our second stay at Sunset Rest. It is a fabulous home in a fabulous location on Lake Lure. Great neighbors, quiet. Our only problems were no oven and a poorly functioning grill. We were told on Friday at 4:40PM, before our check in the stove was not working but we would be updated. Understandable as these things happen. We stopped at Ingle's (another plus of Lake Lure is this great grocery store) on the way in Saturday to get food for the week. At 6 PM we had not heard from anyone so texted number given to us. The stove then began beeping every 30 seconds so at 8:30PM texted again. We finally found fuse and cut off power to the stove. Received text at 10PM a Whirlpool rep had come out but did not know outcome. Monday by 5 Pm we had not heard anything so I contacted Yonder again. Was told stove coming in tomorrow. Yay! Next day told stove would not arrive until Thursday. So we decided to grill more than planned as could do this with food purchased. Well the grill temperature would not get above 325. Contacted Yonder at 4:30 PM as they had not reached out to us. At 5 PM received message that stove would not be arriving until next week. So we did not have a working stove or grill all week. This is a wonderful home and we will probably stay again. The issue we have is the poor communication from Yonder as to what was going on. We bought food and planned meals (part of the fun of the week as each family member has a night to cook) expecting there to be a stove at least by Tuesday. I would recommend being more proactive with communication. Life happens, things break, but letting people know so they can adjust plans would have improved our experience.
