"My first buffet breakfast in this stay left a bad taste as I ordered an omelet at the egg station but I almost finished my breakfast already (30mins approximately) and after 2 follow ups, I saw only 1 chef manning the egg station with a thick pile of egg requests. For a huge resort that purports to being at the 5 star level, this is unacceptable delay and something I've never experienced in all of the Bonvoy Marriott Group. So I expressed my displeasure to the f&B personnel both in person and email and to their credit, they apologized and sent a fruit basket to mollify the unfortunate experience. Other than that, the rooms were as good as ever, service was very good and personnel were professional and warm. We also enjoyed their spa services which has very good therapists. Also the gym was good and the swimming pool too. The beach quality is not as good but that isnt the fault of the resort. One last nitpick is that we attempted to ask for a 30 minute extension late checkout (standard checkout time is 12:00pm and we requested for 12:30pm) as we are Platinum members of Hotels.com and many hotels do give that little leeway but with Sheraton Mactan, they denied this as they stick strictly to their 12:00pm check-out despite us checking in already late at 8pm and with the aforementioned Platinum status. All in all, it was a good local resort and I would rate it as one of the top 3 resorts in Mactan notwithstanding my egg station difficulties on the first day."
