Hotel Jökull
"We upgraded to a private bath and the breakfast buffet. The room was impeccably clean. The waitstaff did a nice job. It was only the second day for serving dinner so they had a very limited menu."

Hali Country Hotel
"Horrible. Tried to cancel well ahead of time as I was sick with Covid and unable to travel and was told no canceling, so they charged me for a room that was never used….i guess I should have just arrived and gotten everyone sick?"

"The place is a tad outdated, but it has a great nostalgic look and charm. The free breakfast was fantastic, and the dinners were really good. "Very basic small hotel room. Not much space to put carry on luggage. It would be nice to have at least a mini fridge since there are no stores close, restaurants are expensive so I could put a couple of groceries for next day travel. Hotel Smyrlabjorg
"The place is a tad outdated, but it has a great nostalgic look and charm. The free breakfast was fantastic, and the dinners were really good. The wifi was spotty, but nothing that toggling between the two networks didn't solve. The location is fantastic, we stayed for two nights and were able to make day trips toward Vatnajökull National Park, Jokulsarlon and Fjallsárlón lagoons, and Diamond Beach one day, then toward Hofn and Stokksnes the next. We'd definitely stay here again and suggest the hotel to anyone looking to spend a few days in this area."
