Boutique Hotel Torre di Cala Piccola
"You’re paying for the sunset, and the beach access- which are both absolutley stunning. Many reasons this hotel isn’t a 5 star. 1. The room is a 2 star. Old, outdated, no charm, just a plain room with a plain bed, and the bathroom is even more simple. For 700$/night I expected more. 2. Breakfast- every morning it’s the same. Compared to the rest of the hotels we have been in Italy, this has been the worst food. The selection is very minimal and the menu has pancakes with an asterisk next to it. The asterisk states that these come frozen. Really? You can’t make fresh pancakes? That is the easiest thing to make. 3. There is no information sheet in the room of how to contact reception ( which is many stairs away), or what the wifi is etc. Pretty standard again for most hotels. Other than that the service was great. The location is wonderful ( as long as you don’t get car sick- because the roads to get here are VERY windy). I will probably come back again only for the beach, or try and find another hotel with beach proximity. For $700 / night I have a hard time justifying it, and would give it a 2.5 star."
