This place was discusting, homeless and strrt people everywhere outside, Gave us a room athe was discustingly dirty (we have many pics).....fron dest was rude and short, , just everything about this place was bad....lady breast feeding at front desk in morning checkout, 1/2 clothed......just a real ####-hole, Ive traveled overseas for work for 25 years...this property is one of the worst !!!

The place is under upgrades so I hope the place improves. The new paint was likely done with drips in the protective bumper. We asked for a clean up because of poop on the floor in the bathroom. It was obvious in the grout. We had two towels for a party of 5. The room has a permanent smell of smoke. There was no screen on our 2nd floor room. They did give us enough towels and soaps, as well as switches out room.

We were not told the hotel was undergoing renos when booked, our individual room was okay, but there was a lot of garbage left in the hallways by workers who were staying there and one day there was no hot breakfast left because workers had eaten it all.

The stairs up to the door were dirty and the edging material missing in some places. No one was at the desk. Finally a young woman checked us in (slowly) and we made our way to our room. The elevator was very dirty, the hallway didn’t smell good and our room didn’t smell good. So I told my husband we can’t stay here. We spent some time looking for a different hotel and then went back to the check in desk. We said we needed to cancel our reservation and told the young woman we wanted a refund. She said she needed to call her manager. The manager said we would need to call her at her office the next morning. We asked for a business card - there wasn’t one available. We asked for a receipt and the young woman printed one for us. Overall, it as a very frustrating and disappointing experience. I have never seen a hotel so poorly maintained.

The whole place was dirty. The garbage cans in the halls were overflowing, did not get empty the 4 nights in was there. There was dirt and debris all over the floors whole time. Some of the walls had holes in them that were not repaired. They did not come in my room one time to clean, even though i had the “service please” placard on the door handle. I would not recommend staying here.

I called the hotel from the hospital, where I was because of an accident, to cancel my reservation 50 hours prior to my scheduled arrival, as Hotel .com was NOT reachable. I was told by the hotel personal that a written message to hotel.com was sent and copy pasted to be emailed to me. I never received the said email!

Meh, not the worst but not worth the price
Front desk and cleaners did great work, but it's clear that the property is not being well maintained and on top of needed repairs. My bed was comfortable but curtains did not cover the windows (too small), resulting in no way block out security lights, sink faucet had leak with water spraying through the side of the faucet, tv remote broken. That said, staff were friendly and towels, bedding, and toiletries all clean.

Good enough for the money, but...
The hotel is under a lot of renovations which may explain also why the staff is not attentive to how filthy the floors are, among other parts of the building. I do not envy the General Manager. No doubt good help is hard to find in Mt. Vernon. That fact shows up all over town.
