While Hotel New Otani contains nearly every amenity a traveler could need, its focal point is the 400-year-old traditional Japanese garden, once home to samurai lord Kiyomasa Kato (1562-1611), and also owned by a shogunate of the Edo period during its extensive history. Built in 1964, some of the hotel's notable features include its 10-acre property, which includes a moat, scattered trees, a koi fish pond, winding pathways, a Christian chapel, and even a waterfall.

Additional cultural facilities at the New Otani include a finishing school, tea ceremony room, and an art museum with free admission.

Business center: Business support centers are located in both the Main and Tower buildings. The Tower business center is located on the 21st floor and is open daily. It has four computer workstations, three printers, and a relaxation room with massage chairs and reading material. A business support center on the lobby floor of the main building is open daily and offers photocopying, faxing, typing, translation, and other administrative services. Mobile phones can also be rented, and mailing, packaging, and gift wrapping services are available here.

Internet access: Complimentary wireless Internet access is available in public areas.

Conference/function room: A large conference room, measuring 21,442 square feet (1,992 square meters), holds up to 1,200 people and includes high-tech light/scenery controls and simultaneous interpretation equipment for up to six languages.

Other: Audiovisual equipment rental is available on the arcade floor of the Main building. A digital photo shop is also available here, as are an ATM and a small post office.

On-site and nearby parking is available; charges and height restrictions may apply. A floor butler is available. Smoking is restricted to designated areas.

A variety of service and sundry stores are located throughout the two buildings and include an AM/PM convenience store, a pharmacy/drug store, dry cleaner, laundry facilities, and shoe shine service. More than 100 designer boutiques and fashion stores cover two floors of the Tower building and Garden Court, and various gift, antique, and jewelry stores create a second shopping arcade in the Main building. Wedding parties and guests are catered to with a florist, photographer, formal wear rental shop, four beauty salons, a nail salon, esthetician, and barber.

In addition to two business support centers, guests have access to technological equipment for hire or purchase, and can take care of post/packaging needs on site. The hotel’s large, accommodating conference facility makes it a popular spot for business relations and social events.

Garden Lounge - Located along the avenue joining the Main and Tower buildings. Overlooks the garden. Light à la carte menu of sandwiches, pasta, soup, and salads. Also serves drinks, desserts, and snacks throughout the day. Open for breakfast, lunch, tea, and cocktails.

Tom Cat - Casual atmosphere. Serves simple meals and beverages, such as pastas, pizzas, and curry dishes, for lunch and dinner. Located on the arcade floor of the Main building.

Milk Hall - Named after the popular coffee houses of the Taisho period (1912–1926). Self-service restaurant open for breakfast and lunch. Offers croissants and pastries made with dough imported from Germany. Lunch and dinner. Closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.

Tully's Coffee - Branch of the U.S.-based coffee café chain. Also offers pastries, sandwiches, sweets, and ice cream. Open from morning until early evening.

Patisserie Satsuki - Coffee shop with freshly made pastries and bread. Dine in or take out.

La Tour D'Argent - Locally renowned authentic French restaurant, the second of its kind in Tokyo. Opulent décor and fine-dining atmosphere generated by crystal chandeliers, fine china and linens, solid marble display table, and display of antique French dishes and glasses. Trader Vic's - Branch of the San Francisco-based Trader Vic's. International cuisine served amid tropical atmosphere generated by “thatched roof” ceiling, shell accents, and teak furnishings. Known for spareribs cooked in special Chinese ovens. Also features more than 100 varieties of tropical cocktail concoctions. Open for lunch and dinner.

Ristorante Bella Vista - Signature restaurant located on the top floor of the Garden Tower building, with stunning views over Tokyo. Serves authentic Italian cuisine and grilled options from an open kitchen. Also offers organic vegetables and seasonal seafood choices. Open for lunch and dinner. Dress code.

Shenbazuru - Traditional Japanese restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Set menu only; no à la carte dining available. Individual tatami dining rooms. Kaiseki-style cuisine. Decorated in traditional style with tiny Japanese garden flowers and artwork.

Shekishin-tei - Set within the 400-year-old Japanese garden. Counter-style seating. Menu of Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisine grilled at tables. Open for lunch and dinner.

Momiji-tei - Located at the far end of the garden. Teppanyaki-style restaurant serves Japanese beef and seasonal vegetables for lunch and dinner.

Nadaman - Branch of the well-known Japanese restaurant chain. Open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Menu changes on a monthly basis to incorporate seasonally based options. Views of the Japanese garden.

Horikawa - Located on the arcade floor of the Main building. Open for lunch and dinner. Japanese cuisine; tatami rooms available.

Tempura Horikawa - Tempura-style Japanese cuisine served at tables for small groups, and bar counter. Open for lunch and dinner.

Rantei - Located on the arcade floor of the Main building. Japanese cuisine for lunch and dinner. Specializes in sweetfish ayu and sake.

Okahan - Serves traditional sukiyaki, shabu shabu, and oil yaki (Japanese steak) using Japanese beef and seasonal vegetables. Open for lunch and dinner. Located in the Main building.

Sushi Kyubei - Traditional sushi bar. Located in both the Main and Tower buildings. Open for lunch and dinner.

Fumizen - Open for lunch and dinner. Specializes in tonkatsu: breaded deep-fried pork cutlets, traditionally served with shredded cabbage, rice, and miso soup.

Isehiro - Second location of the well-known original branch based in the Ginza district. Specializes in yakitori. Open for lunch and dinner.

Bar Capri - Decorated with original artwork of French expressionist Paul Aizpiri. Serves cocktails and other beverages.

The Bar - Located on the Tower building's 40th floor, with view of Tokyo Tower. Serves drinks, light meals.

Top of the Tower - Continental buffet cuisine for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Also features special dessert corner. Located on top of the Tower building, with extensive views.

Gun-Ship - Set-menu cuisine for lunch and dinner. Décor theme patterned after 16th-century sailing vessel.

Aux Bacchanales - Brasserie-style French restaurant. Open terrace faces Shimizudani Park. Open for lunch, dinner, and coffee. Also includes boulangerie serving a variety of European-style sandwiches and pastries.

In the Tower building can be found a fitness center, which is complimentary for hotel guests and offers a variety of equipment. A sports club is located on the third floor and available only for daily surcharges. It offers a fitness center, pool, and spa. An outdoor pool, fitted with pool umbrellas, is located in the Japanese garden. This pool is one of the largest in Tokyo and is open during the summer months only.

Hotel New Otani recommends three different jogging routes in and around the hotel complex. The 1.5-km (1-mile) basic course winds through pine trees surrounding the New Otani and its neighborhood. A hilltop course, also 1.5 km (1 mile) leads past groves of cherry trees and forsythias. A more advanced course of 3.5 km (1.5 miles) passes Akasaka Palace and follows the moat surrounding Togu Palace (residence of the crown prince).
