The resort has lots of potential, but we were extremely disappointed overall. Starting with telling me we did not have a reservation (despite having booked and paid in full), to find a very run down resort. The photos are outdated and in some cases inaccurate and misleading. The facilities are not as shown in the photos are are limited. The rooms are extremely basic but comfortable enough. The bathroom shower area was dirty and the ceiling throughout the apartment is covered in rust, as is most of the resort. Electrics outside the room appear dangerous and certainly does not meet any codes (if they even exist in Panama) Frequent power outages (but did not last long) plus no water one night. Food was ok, and service typical Panamanian (ie poor) Often no towels available, no coffee and/or milk and/or sugar at every breakfast. The pool requires attention.
There is access to the other side of the island if you want a strenuous 45 minute hike over the hilltop, so otherwise the resort is isolated.
The resort seems popular with Panamanians who accept Panamanian standards and level of service (no offence intended), but if you are a foreigner I think you will be very disappointed.
