I prepaid for my room on Travelocity and the hotel charged me a gain once I arrived. I was charged for a smoking fee but should have not paid for the room cost when I arrived

I was very displeased with my stay. I had to pay $30 to valet my vehicle because the hotel does have a parking area for guest. My truck then got broken into while in there secured garage. The hotel didnt have room service or breakfast like advertised on Travelocity website. The room had poor A/C and it took forever to cool the room off. I would have been better off at a Best western. I will never use this hotel again wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

The hotel was modern and very hip. The Staff were warm and very attentive. Our room accommodations exceeded or expectations. We loved the little snack bar in the lobby. We will definitely consider staying at another A Loft hotel in the future.

Centrally located, well appointed

I stayed at the Aloft for business. The hotel is in a converted historic building in downtown Houston, centrally located to the main business district, government offices, and many of the vacation destinations. In keeping with the Aloft style, the interior is decorated with vibrant colors and energetic music plays in the lobby area and elevators. The hotel caters to "hip" traveler apparently, but the guests that I saw spanned the spectrum of typical travelers, so everyone must feel welcome. The room was comfortable and clean. Wifi (included) signal was strong throughout the hotel, which made it easy to work in the room or on the roof deck. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I enjoyed the rooftop deck and pool (11th floor) and breakfast (extra charge). My meals included continental breakfast offerings and a fresh-made breakfast scramble that was tasty. I did not try the bar, but there was one off the lobby that seemed nice. The lobby also had a games area with a pool table and various board games. If I had my kids with me, that would have been a nice option. Overall, for the price, location, and comfort, I would consider staying again and would recommend it.
