How to get through airport security fast when traveling to Copenhagen
Make your journey to Copenhagen a little easier by following these useful security tips:

  • Ensure your travel ID and boarding pass are easy to access. You will be asked to show them straightaway.
  • It’s important to know that metal belt buckles can set off the body scanner’s alarms. If you’re wearing one, you may be asked to remove it before moving forward.
  • Electronic devices such as tablets, laptops and phones need to be put through the X-ray machine separately. Be sure to have them within easy reach.
  • Toothpaste, lip balm and other toiletry items in liquid, gel or cream form need to be stored in containers no larger than 3.4 ounces (100 milliliters). They also need to fit in a 1-quart (1-liter) clear zip-lock plastic bag.
  • Give some thought to the type of footwear you want to travel in. Slippers are great because they’re a piece of cake to take off for the airport security checks. Try wearing some on your next journey!
  • The list of non-permissible items is forever changing. Have a look at your carrier’s official website to find out what is not allowed on board their flights.

How to find cheap flights

What is the best day to buy a plane ticket?

Airfares offered on Friday tend to be the cheapest, according to flight demand on Travelocity.ca in 2021. Purchasing your airfares on a Thursday or Saturday can also provide better value, however our advice if you’re looking to save money is to avoid booking on a Wednesday or Sunday. Our data shows that those two days have the highest ticket values on average, so keep this in mind if you’re browsing flight deals.

What are the cheapest days to fly?

Frequent travellers may already know this, earlier in the week is often the cheapest time to fly. Flights departing on a Monday are the cheapest of the week. Since flights towards the middle of the week tend to be more popular, this causes the prices to rise. This is why, on average, airfares booked on Travelocity.ca in 2021 were most expensive for Wednesday departures.

How far in advance can you book a flight?

Here’s the deal: It is typically possible to start comparing international airfares on Travelocity.ca up to 12 months in advance. However, it does depend on the carrier as not all airlines release their prices that far out. According to our 2021 flight demand trends, last minute planners can still bag a bargain with some of the cheapest fares appearing 2-4 weeks prior to their travel dates.

*According to flight demand on Travelocity.ca from January to December 2021. Savings are subject to change and may vary depending on selections made.

Flights To Copenhagen

Despite its relatively small size, Copenhagen, Denmark, offers picture-perfect cobbled streetscapes and gorgeous pastel shaded townhomes that create an exquisite urban experience that is unbearably cool and stylish. Most international flights to Copenhagen touch down at Kastrup Airport (CPH), from there you can start your exploration of Denmark's incredible capital city. After your long flight, you might want to grab a bite to eat at one of Copenhagen's 15 Michelin-starred restaurants to refuel. Once you have dined on a scrumptious meal, why not take a stroll in the Tivoli gardens that were planted in 1843 and continue to thrive? Before calling it a day, you'll want to see Copenhagen's famous Little Mermaid Statue at Langelinje Pier and grab a few pictures of the iconic statue.

Transportation from CPH

Finding hotels near Kastrup Airport are the obvious transportation solution, especially if you are leaving early in the morning or very late at night, and you'll find a variety in the area to suit all budgets. The hotels usually provide free airport transfers, but heading directly into town from the airport is easy. The train station at the airport is below Terminal 3, and has local services to the city center as well as regional lines. The train also goes as far afield as southern Sweden. You can take line M2 of the Copenhagen Metro as far as the city center, or use the E20 motorway. Alternatively, local and long-distance buses, including one to Jutland, also stop at the airport.
