Nice hotel in a good central location.

Check in was easy, it was difficult to find our room due to a split building layout. Two lifts were out of service and when we tried to use the working lift we were told by a staff member we couldn’t use the lift as they were moving luggage. Room was clean and comfortable, check out was easy however when we left the car park the ticket didn’t allow exit. A few cars had the same problem.

The desk clerk when we checked in was unfriendly and unwelcoming. The day time staff were very lovely so they made up the difference. Our room was spacious and bright and met our needs for our one night's stay.

The external area by the entrance could be a bit more appealing but its a very good location as its just off the busy routes. So still handy for walking anywhere. Good view of river from the hotel bar.

The hotel is convenient for the centre of York and the railway station. A couple of minor gripes. The air conditioning controller was in the locked position and couldn’t be used to adjust the temperature. Even though this was reported, nothing was done. The dining room for breakfast and the hallways are looking a bit shabby.

Up visiting family....Nice hotel with good views over York. The hotel is up to a good standard with good sized rooms. On arrival there had been some technical issues with key cards and the staff were great at managing access to the rooms for people whilst resolving the issue swiftly. Breakfast was pleasant and the staff were lovely at every encounter
