Parking was a bit of a challenge to locate myself, the gentleman on reception was very helpful, kind and friendly and directed me to the parking. Room was pleasant, the decor is outdated but there’s nothing wrong with it. It’s nice to be in a building that has lots of history to it. It’s not the cleanest or well-maintained hotel, but considering the price I paid, no complaints really. It was a very comfy bed, roof over my head and hot water - at the end of the day it’s all I needed and the staff were pleasant.

Filthy, over 400 years old and you can tell. Normally just used by contractors. Only gave it a 1 for the friendly staff No bar, no food but free parking.

The property has been previously used as an asylum hotel and as such been left in an unsuitable and unsafe condition.i have photos of a few of the issues within the hotel. I will be asking for a full refund.

Awful.

Charming old building. Nothing blocking the window in bathroom. Realised in time to see some weirdo trying to film on phone across the road. (Staff denied was possible till I insisted they come to room and they put a dirty towel up.) The room was very dirty. Slept on top Of covers and luckily I carry my own pillow.

I stayed a night at Rose and Crown, the room was the most affordable in the area and to my suprise its one of the most beautiful room i ever stayed at. It was perfectly clean, quiet and super unique as its a 400 year old building.

It is a very old building steeped in history and has fantastic quirky areas for sitting. The staff are great and friendly. It really needs to be used to its full potential. Pur stay was comfortable and the rooms were clean. Some maintainance work is being carried out but didn't affect our stay.
