Enjoy a fantastic retreat in our 3 bedroom home in the heart of Bowness.

After a day of exploring all The Lakes has to offer, take advantage of a relaxing night in and enjoy the spacious house with free standing bath overlooking the mountain views or relaxing in the spacious kitchen dining room. Alternatively head to the many restaurants, shops and bars just a minutes walk from your door.

Although very central, The Retreat is situated on a quiet street, tucked away from the busy town centre.

Built of Lakeland stone in the early 1900s and sympathetically renovated in 2022, The Retreat offers a large master bedroom overlooking the town and mountains in the distance. Both king size bedrooms boast superbly comfortable Harrison Spinks 22000 sprung mattresses and the master has an exquisite copper freestanding bath. The bathroom is offers a wonderful monsoon shower.

The property is a traditional Lakeland terraced house. Walking in through the newly renovated front entrance you will find ample space for your walking boots, coats and bags. The hallway leads you to a spacious lounge with smart TV, books, puzzles and games and leads through into a spacious kitchen diner with fireplace. The well equipped kitchen has a coffee maker, dishwasher, hob, oven and microwave as well as all pot, pan, crockery, glasses and utensils that you may need during your stay.

Our property offers breathtaking views that will leave you in awe. From the comfort of your own space, enjoy stunning mountain vistas, especially from the luxurious copper roll-top bath—an ideal spot to unwind while soaking in the beauty of the surrounding peaks. The tranquil views of the mountains and hills create a peaceful and serene atmosphere, providing the perfect backdrop for relaxation.

Just a short stroll from the property, you’ll find the renowned Biskey Howe viewpoint. This spot offers some of the most spectacular panoramic views over Windermere and Bowness, making it a must-see for nature lovers and photographers alike. Whether you’re watching the sun rise over the lake or enjoying the vibrant colours of the sunset, Biskey Howe delivers an unforgettable view at any time of day.
