Ironman World Championship

I was racing in the Ironman World Championship. Great location to stay in such a beautiful area. Easy to get back to Kailua-Kona. The condo was perfect!

Fantastic stay on the big island

This place was wonderful! 7-10 min walk to a great beach. 5 min walk to grocery stores. Close to Kona-related activities and activities north of Kona. Kitchen had everything we needed; snorkeling gear worked well. Just perfect.

Love the Fairway Villas at Waikaloa, this was our first time in a three bedroom and were not disappointed. Having three separate rooms with bathrooms is nice for a long stay and my adult daughters loved it. This our 7th time staying at the location and love the area with the King and Queens accommodations that are an easy walk to.

Wonderful condo with stunning views and everything you need

We really enjoyed everything about this property. It was spacious, well appointed, and decorated tastefully. We had plenty of room for our group of five adults and one kid. There is a grassy area in front of the outdoor patio behind the golf fairway that our child loved to play on in the mornings and we would watch the sunset on in the evenings. The kitchen had more than enough utensils, cutlery, pots and pans, cups, plates, and even Tupperware. We weren't missing anything. With the A/C and fans in the property it was a very comfortable temperature. The pool was close by, big, warm and looked out on the golf course fairway. It even opens early (7AM) which is nice for families with young kids. We would definitely stay here again.

Great place, and location

Loved the set up of this house. Very spacious for 4 adults. And superb view of the golf course. Walking distance to shops. Very close to Hapuna beach! Loved our stay here. Highly recommend

Can’t wait to go again

Spent a week here on a “staycation.” We live on the other side of the island. We couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place. The unit is well equipped with gear for a beach or pool day, and is set up in the perfect location. The views of the nene every morning and evening along the golf course was just an added bonus. We will definitely be back for our next staycation. The unit is perfectly located to anything you may need. I don’t know what else to say other than we love it and regretted not making the trip longer than one week.

Exceeded my expectations

I would not say this is a five star place but it is solid and we were happy with everything. Sometimes rentals are not clean. . This unit was clean and fit our needs perfectly. We used the kitchen and everything was fine. Loved being on hole #4 and the convenience of stopping in to refill water bottles. (Beware there is NO water on the beach course. That’s just wrong. ). The addition of hand towels in the bathrooms would be appreciated. We didn’t use the beds other than the master (which seemed ok), nor the pool but it looked nice. I think we were there during a quiet period, which was nice but I would bet parking is an issue. We only used a visitor spot to park but the directions are unclear; they said we have a dedicated parking spot but only park in visitor or non-resident spot. Confusing but it worked out for us. Just all around a great trip.

Everything we could have asked for

This VRBO rental was perfect for our family vacation. We had ages ranging from a 2 year old to an octogenarian and the place was perfect for everyone. The place had all the beach toys and amenities we could ever need, had an ironing board and iron for when we dressed up to go to a luau, and a washing machine and dryer for doing a couple of loads of laundry before moving on to our next destination. Two small suggestions: a round cookie sheet for cooking pizzas in the oven, and all new spices (the spices in the rack are well past their 'best by' date). Thanks for everything. DM and family

Nice location. Property management needs improvement

This was nice location. Walking distance to shops and restaurants. Pool was crowded at sometimes. For a large complex the pool is on the small side and also in need of repairs. Checkin was easy. The property was sort of clean but definitely needing some repairs. I attempted to contact management company. Left at least 2 messages and called repeatedly but they never answered their phone. Not sure how to communicate with them to provide list of missing and broken items. I will not be staying here again.

Nice Unit, Management issues

Cons: Upon arrival, incorrect key box code and eventually found out the box had been changed and no key was present, housekeeping didn't lock the back door so we were able to gain entry. Fridge smelled like rotten shrimp juice had been spilled, this tainted the flavor of the Ice as well. The TV did not work in either room upstairs, but I was eventually able to get the master to work. NO COOLER in beach supplies, all snorkel clips to attach masks are broken. Had to Rent Gear. Exterior of unit needs to be washed, Lots of Spider Webs. Master Bed King needs to be thrown out! It has two large holes on each side where you lay. Blender missing lid, no bottle opener or wine opener. Instructions to not set AC below 72F or it will freeze the unit outside, I feel this is for the owner to keep the power bill low otherwise replace the unit so it works properly. My Wife overheard an Employee of Fairway Villas (Light Blue Shirt with Fairway Logo) Told a couple to leave the pool area because they were not owners of the condo. the gentlemen asked how he knew if he was an owner or not and the guy at the pool stated, I know because of the towels you are using. This is unacceptable. You pay for an amazing vacation and you can't even use the pool. Another con is that the master bedroom has an opening window area to the upstairs of the unit. you can't even have a private conversation or even be intimate with your partner without being heard. Pros; Great location, Spacious unit, decently stocked, decent price.

Location was perfect... condo needs some up keep

The location was so great, walking distance to many shops and little spots to eat. Condo was a great size and pretty well stocked, but we had a handful of issues. When we got to the home, we shut a door and a picture fell off the wall, the washer and dryer were both broken (I called to get a maintenance person out to see if he could fix it, and he said that there was nothing he could do) so we couldn't wash our towels and dry them. Every time we did dishes in the dishwasher, we had to run it twice. One of the showers would barely drain and another shower door would fall off if you touched it(there were paper signs in the bathrooms that just said 'parts ordered') there are ants all over the place, outside, and some inside (make sure you store your food off of the counters, and seal it all well) Parking was OK, but it's a gamble and you just have to hope you can find a spot close to the unit. The grounds are well maintained, and the pool is really great, just a little on the smaller size. I think all in all I might have been happier staying at one of the neighboring hotels/resorts, due to the inconveniences that we faced.

Luxury at its best

An absolute perfect villa! We arrived on the Big Island after visiting two other islands and we Immediately fell in love with the space and the villa. What an amazingly decorated home and a perfect location. We’ve stayed in Waikoloa Village before but this villa surpassed the Hilton Village. We love the private laundry, kitchen, community pool, the extremely close location to Kings and Queens Village for food and shopping. With five people, it was far more luxurious to any hotel. Since we could not get a single room for five for the ages, it was more economical. I will not only stay in the Villas but will look specifically for #J6!

Large and well maintained property!

We had a family celebration at this Fairways Villas property for just about 5 1/2 weeks from mid July to the end of August 2017. My wife and I had a few days alone, then entertained first 5 folks, then 4, then 3 and finally 2, each for a week on their own and leaving us one week to recover. The condo was equipped to handle all those loads very well. Appliances are in good condition, entry closet has lots of ocean gear, and managers Heidi, Lauri and Faith were responsive, efficient and professional. Would do it there again easy!
