I am deaf and when I checked in she gave me key 409 then quickly changed it to 296 when she found out I had a service dog. Then kept calling my service dog my pet even after I showed her a government of Alberta service dog license. Then get to the room and the windows are wide open and anyone could climb in and attack me. The place is beyond filthy. I am reporting ten to human rights and better business bureau. I walked out and still got charged. DO NOT BOOK HERE. NOT SAFE. NO HOTEL SECURITY ANF IKD FASHION KEYS.

Lovely Hotel. Great location. Only problem no Air Conditioning and couldn't sleep as room too warm. Electric fan and windows open made little difference.

Everything was wonderful. Right next to the beach with amazing sunsets. Close to lots of great dining options. Hotel was super charming with a lot of interesting historic features and a staff that took very good care of my family.

I’m always a little hesitant with “historic” hotels. But the Sylvia was fantastic! Beautiful, classic hotel in a fantastic location. The restaurant was so good, and our waitress was the best! We only stayed one night, but I will definitely be back next time we are in Vancouver. Highly recommend!

English bay cannot be beat for beauty and location. The hotel is old but beautiful, biggest issue is NO Air conditioning and the downtown area can be noisy all night long.
