Features a private outdoor hot tub for soaking under the stars and cozy fireplace for snuggling up on cold winter nights. Very comfortable for couples or small families, close to the best hiking in the East, lakes, amazing ski resorts, craft breweries, coffee shops, restaurants of every kind and sightseeing! The Rustic Bear is indeed private! It is perfect for couples or small families seeking a private spot to enjoy nature. Full kitchen, bathroom with shower, bedroom and loft bedroom, and electric fireplace. The cabin is tucked on a hill with a porch. Guests DO need to bring their own linens and towels, but these can be provided if necessary for an additional fee. Satellite TV with DVD player. High Speed Internet. Great 4G cell phone reception. Get truly unplugged and remember what it used to be like to relax. Guests may bring up to 2 dogs for a $50 pet fee. You get a key and the place is all yours! Very private. You will not see any neighbors while on the property. The housekeeper may come by every couple days to check on the hot tub to ensure it is clean and clear for your enjoyment. We communicate by email, text or phone, and every guest receives full directions, key instructions and guest packet with info about the house and area (where to shop, eat, things to do, etc.). We are always available should something come up during your stay, and our housekeeper and caretaker live nearby. The cabin is located on a well maintained (paved) road in the White Mountains. There are no neighbors in view, so this your experience will be very private. You need a car to get around, and AWD is advisable in the winter. The area, including the driveway, is quite hilly. Don't come up in the winter on bald tires! This house is very private, but close to all the White Mountains have to offer. My boyfriend and I stayed here with our dog and the location is unbeatable. Secluded enough to feel detached/unplugged, but close to amazing hikes, views, and attractions. Loved stargazing in the hot tub and coffee on the front porch. As others have mentioned the beds need to be replaced, that was our biggest/only "discomfort". Otherwise the host was easy to get in contact with if we had questions and our pup was happy for the yard to roam. We suggest bringing a long leadline or tether for your pup since this is on a main road. Our dog is very good about staying close but given the speed cars were traveling, we felt safest with her connected to something. Thank you for having us!

The cabin was nice, but it was hot and there was no air conditioning. When I opened the windows, the screen by the kitchen table was not in good shape so I couldn’t leave it open. That window wouldn’t lock either. It took several hours before the cabin was cool enough for us to sleep. The loft was too hot so we had to sleep in the lower bedroom. The bed there was very uncomfortable. Neither sleeping area had been cleaned around the beds. The hot tub was wonderful, though!

The owner was awesome! Great communication answered quickly if we had questions. There where somethings that were overlooked by cleaning team. The bed was really uncomfortable. That was what I read in other reviews so i was hoping for the best. Overall we had a good time! The hot tub was very nice and relaxing. We had a great fire in the fire pit. The electric fireplace lit up but there was no way to turn it on for the heat. The switch for turning heat on was gone, just an empty hole. I would recommend this to other's even with the few things we were disappointed in.

A fantastic time in Twin Mountain! Huge yard with tons of berry bushes, great evenings sitting around the fire pit, or sipping wine on the front porch, a relaxing time away! While the cottage is cozy, it has everything one needs. Although there is a hot tub, we didn’t make use of it as the weather was 90 during our stay. I’m sure on a crisp fall evening it would be nice! The location is close to everything we needed.

Convenient and Rustic

Convenient location to all kinds of hiking. Hot tub and fire pit were great. Would be helpful to provide all guests instructions for TV/DVD player and hot tub. None of the remotes worked for TV/DVD (likely just need new batteries or something was not plugged in)—- and we are pretty tech-savvy. Love the titmouse nest above back door area. We walked around sides of house to provide her some peace. Great location and overall provided what we needed. Thank you for the sheets and towels, and for the daily rate, those should be provided. Cheers!

Solid Stay

I would like to start by saying I enjoyed my stay, as did my wife. The location is secluded and convenient for day trips to Littleton, Conway, and the National Forest. The jacuzzi is clean and well maintained. The property is pretty and has plenty of space for activities. The cabin itself is fairly dated. There’s nothing structurally wrong, it could just use updating. The furniture especially needs an update. It’s small, of course, but functional. The only thing I’d note for future renters is that I wouldn’t recommend the stay for more than two people. The loft queen is not really for the summer as it stays very very hot despite AC. The bugs can get in, just something you need to deal with out in the woods. The bugs are also plentiful, be prepared. We thought we were but I wish we over prepared. The owners are very responsive. We did need to put the AC in ourselves and it’s not a big problem but I would ask the owners before renting at the beginning of the summer season whether the AC is actually installed or not. Overall I enjoyed the stay. It was a fun time and I would recommend it for a couple.

Good for a short & sweet stay

As expected, based on the reviews we read. Campfire and hot tub were great. Front porch was a nice little spot. The cabin's on a main road but otherwise it's pretty private and secluded from neighbors. The downstairs bed needs to be replaced, but for the price, all what we expected. When we asked about charcoal for the grill, they responded right away with helpful info. We had a couple of great dinners on that grill. Good experience overall given the price.
