At first glance, the townhouse was peaceful, inviting, and well presented. The décor was lovely, the view from the lounge was beautiful, and the kitchen had most essential amenities. Unfortunately, several issues became apparent during our stay. The listing advertised Wi-Fi and a clothes dryer, but there was no dryer, and the Wi-Fi didn’t work until I contacted the host. They advised they would update the listing, but with constant rain we had no way to dry our clothes or towels.The biggest issue was the pest problem. Ants were throughout the townhouse, including the bedrooms, kitchen, hallway, and bathroom, and small cockroaches emerged from the bathroom drain. The insect spray provided was extremely strong and unpleasant, and the property would benefit from professional pest control. There were also several maintenance issues. The toilet was slow to refill, the bathroom tap was very stiff, the shower tap felt loose, and the air conditioner did not provide adequate heating. The second bedroom was accessed via approximately 15 steep, slippery stairs, which were not mentioned in the listing. The room was very basic and would benefit from an armchair, towel rack, and additional hooks or rails. With no dryer and wet weather, there was nowhere practical to dry towels. Other concerns included an unpleasant smell in the upstairs wardrobe, dirty entry curtains, worn towels, no bath mat, an old, uncomfortable lounge, and no TV in the living area despite TVs in the bedrooms.
