Check in was the worst check in I have experienced in the 20 years I have used VRBO. I received no check in information the day of arrival. I messaged the host and received a message back saying I needed to fill out the damage waiver prior to receiving check in information. I filled out the form, paid the extra 50 to avoid any charges for damages. I received a message back acknowledging receipt of the damage waiver and a link to check in information. However, the link didn’t provide check in information. It offered me the opportunity to pay more to check out late. Finally, after several more messages, without results, we called the VRBO help line. This was 1.5 hours after our check in time. The VRBO person helped connect me via phone to the host or host representative. At this point we received a code to check in at about 2 hours after check in time. The house is in poor condition. I’m usually not a complainer, but here are a few deficiencies we found. The living room couch had a torn cushion and held together with a big paper clip. The rug was soiled. There were no instructions on how to operated/connect to the TV service. The kitchen was not stocked well at all. There was one steak knife that we used as a paring knife. The upper rack in the oven was stuck in the highest broiling position. The refrigerator had a drawer that did not fit.The whole house was painted white with very odd artwork. The showers shower curtains had algae.
