Classic, cozy ski cabin with excellent location

We are two families with teens who enjoy skiing together. This comfortable 4 bedroom house right on the North Star Shuttle (pick up and drop off on demand to your driveway!) made it easy for us to come and go on different schedules, and the big living room was great for hanging out together apres ski. Yes, the decor is a bit dated, bedding a bit worn but everything very clean, and we would be delighted to stay here again.

Basic getaway

Excellent area for group stays with activities nearby for all ages. Property is on golf course and house has all the necessities but decor is really dated. We had 6 adult couples but beds good for 4 as other beds are sofa or bunk/twin. Smoke from a forest fire forced us to close windows 1 night so house was too warm. Overall a pleasant family stay.

North Star home

The property is lovely, had plenty of room. Children enjoyed outdoor activities while at the house. The bedrooms were spacious. It is located close to grocery shopping, Resturants, and Lake Tahoe activities. Spent time at Kings Beach and Tahoe City, also took an afternoon ride on the Tahoe Gal.

July Stay with dog

My impression is that the company running the home is unaware of many of its problems and idiosyncrasies in the home owner requirements and benefits. It says it sleeps 10, but it only sleeps 4 comfortably--mattresses are not good, the twin room has a thumping sound that goes on in the middle of the night, the guests on the pull out double found the floor more comfortable as did the one in the bunk room. There were only six chairs in dining room table and they were awkward. There were no liners for garbage, ceiling fan did not work, insufficient dish detergent, and wrong coffee filters. The rec center cost twice as much as posted (and 25% more than I was informed when booking the place though the increase had been made 6 months earlier). The instructions on fridge out of date, key safe was difficult to close. On the plus side, the staff did come by and make adjustments to much of this--bringing a fan, liners, coffee filters etc... Also on the plus side was being able to have our dog there, though I think next time we might leave him home to get a more comfortable stay at those prices.

Cozy Northstar house

Overall the house is as advertised. Maybe no quite as updated as some of the other houses in the area, but very cozy and comfortable. Perfect for a ski trip. Great value and great location. My only issue was the lighting. a lot of the light bulbs are too white rather than a warm light and that could kind of throw off the cozy feel of the cabin.

Great Stay

Only two things, the bed still had dog hairs so good thing I always bring my own sheets. Did not know that we would have to drive to a near location to take the ALL trash out. This should be done by the cleaning crew. Other than that the place was great!

The house was large, clean and comfortable for our family. Sheri was very helpful particularly given the delays caused by I80 closure and the storm.

Lovely location, good interiors, nice hosts, good master bedroom

Property was really good. Couldn't ask for better instructions or location. The master bed, other queen bed and the 2 single beds were comfortable. The bunk beds were not great though, so if you have more than 6 people, it's a little uncomfortable. Very well located, comfortable living room and overall a great place :)

Great Ski Break!

We loved the property. It was an updated throwback to the 70s. We had fun discovering the fun quirks while enjoying the modern amenities (appliances, TV, etc). The kitchen was well stocked and the home was spacious enough for everyone. There were no issues during our stay, but properly management did call the first night to let us know a plumber would be by to fix a running toilet the prior guests reported. This was done quickly and didn't interfere with our stay. The Northstar shuttle was easy, you either called or downloaded an app and it picked you up at the bottom of the driveway, most times in 5-10 minutes. The kids enjoyed sledding and playing on the golf course property in the back yard. Wonderful end to our winter break!

Great Time

This cabin was great for a large family vacation! Four bedrooms, three bathrooms with other pull out couches, etc. gave us all the room we needed. One word of warning ... this house isn’t very toddler friendly. Lots of stairs both inside and off the outside deck ... the gate latch to the deck stairs is broken. Fireplace stone right at head high, etc. not really the cabin’s fault ... just so you know if your family has some young toddlers ... we has two.

Nice, spacious place

It was a great place! Shuttle access to the Village was easy. Location is close to King's Beach area (maybe like 15 min. without traffic). Plenty of space. SUPER easy check-in. Very responsive property managers. Our internet and TV didn't work and they were nice to give us some credit back for the inconvenience. Appreciated that! A few things that could have been better are: 1. There are absolutely no condiments/spices for the kitchen. You have to bring EVERYTHING yourself. I guess this could be normal? I'm used to Airbnb places and they AT LEAST have salt & pepper, foil, zip lock, cling wrap. 2. Kitchen appliances can be updated as they were all very old, but nonetheless did its job. 3. Beds are TERRIBLE! It dips low and is just not comfortable. Mattresses DEFINITELY are in need of new ones. 4. For the grill we had to use a pine needle to get it started. Overall though it's a nice and comfortable place.

Nice stay but not sure I'd do it again

The house is a bit tired, but overall very nice, spacious and quiet. We were charged an additional $44 without an explanation. We were told that we would be charged $35 for the lock box that the manager accused us of stomping on or taking a hammer to. Why would any renter do that? Also, there was a bone left that our dog unfortunately found and some take out food containers left on the patio. These are not terrible offenses, but not we expected.

Great cabin - could use updating

Great Tahoe cabin. Kitchen items could use updating - no cutting board, pan handles falling off, bbque - igniter broken. Dryer - loose connection - need to shake it to work. One shower has limited pressure. A little dark. Had a great time anyway!

Not a great place

Entry was hard. The key is on a long wire in the lockbox and cannot be removed. Couldn't find the garage door opener. Upside down house with long climb up to main floor. Hard to take dog in and out. Left after one night.
