Located near Wester Ross on the western edge of the Scottish Highlands is Stag Lodge. This spacious, pet friendly cottage comfortably accommodates up to eight in four bedroom and is within easy reach of Plockton and Applecross, and the glorious beaches on the West Coast of Scotland.
It is the cottage's location within the 4,000 acre Glencarron Estate that makes it really special. There are four peaks over 3,000 ft accessed from the Estate and four more within an easy drive, so it's an ideal spot for "Munro Baggers". There are wonderful walks from the cottage, and salmon and trout fishing and clay-pigeon shooting can all be organised from the cottage owners.
Stag Lodge is a classic Victorian estate workers cottage that has been recently refurbished to create a spacious, elegant holiday home for friends or families. The cottage is comfortably furnished and equipped to a high standard.
On the ground floor of the cottage there is a large lounge with open fire and doors opening directly onto the patio, which has wonderful views of the Highlands. Off the lounge is the well-equipped kitchen, which is fitted with a wide range of appliances, including a fridge/freezer, an electric twin oven with hob and a dishwasher. There is also a handy utility room where you will find the washing machine and tumble dryer. The final room downstairs is a spacious double bedroom with views of the glen and plenty of storage, this bedroom also benefits from its own en-suite shower room.
The final three bedrooms are all located on the first floor of the cottage and are set up as twins with full size single beds. They share the first floor family bathroom, which is fitted with a bath with overhead shower, a wash basin and a WC.
Outside, Stag Lodge has a good sized garden, which is home to lot of local birds and wildlife. The views from here are beautiful both during the day and at night when you can admire the stars.
Apart from the amazing scenery right outside the cottage, there are also plenty of places to visit with the Isle of Skye, Plockton and the rest of the Highlands to explore. The area is also ideal for a number of activities, including walking, cycling and water sports.
Please note that Stag Lodge is a semi-detached cottage set above the road, it lies beside the estate stalker's cottage and has an enclosed garden, so dogs and children cannot escape!
