The unit was nice and clean and in a great area to use for a base while visiting key west. Unfortunately our AC went out for 2.5 days of our 4 days. it took us forever to get in contact with anyone...24/7 service my butt. We spent most of the first night trying to get a hold of someone locally to let them know what was happening. We were able to talk to someone through the 800 number buy they were unable to help us out and wouldnt give us contact info for the local after hours department. No one seemed to care that we were traveling with elderly folks or that none of us could sleep. The next morning we were finally contacted by the local office who sent a maintenance man to take a look at the problem. He seemed to be the only person who was understanding and apologetic. Unfortunately being in key west parts and services do take a little longer to get since everything is further away. The rooms stayed at 90 degrees during the day and 85 at night, even with the mini units they lent us. The breaker box was also arching and buzzing and needed to be replaced. We had to flip off the breaker because it's a fire hazard. We weren't able to cook or do laundry because it was so hot. We had to cancel excursions because we were so exhausted from not sleeping. The only apology came on our last day in the form of 100$ to split between 7 guests. Saying thank you for being patient is not the same as apologizing or showing empathy. We even asked to be moved to another unit and were denied.
