Welcome to Hillside, a spacious mountain retreat designed for gathering, relaxing, and enjoying the natural beauty of Vermont.

Nestled above a peaceful meadow and surrounded by forests, Hillside offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature while enjoying all the comforts of home. Our property is proudly certified by the National Wildlife Federation as a wildlife habitat, attracting an abundance of songbirds, butterflies, pollinators, and native wildlife throughout the year. Our wild blackberry and raspberry bushes are great for snacking! Keep an eye out for deer or cows grazing in the meadow, listen to birdsong with your morning coffee, and enjoy the tranquility that makes this setting so special.

Just a short drive away, you’ll find local farms and farm stands (see list in our house book) offering fresh seasonal produce, maple syrup, artisanal cheeses, baked goods, and other Vermont favorites—perfect for stocking the kitchen and enjoying a true taste of the region.

The main level features two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, a laundry room, and a fully equipped kitchen with counter seating and a large dining table that comfortably seats 10 guests. The kitchen is a chef’s dream, and is stocked with all the basic cooking essentials, including common condiments and then some. Please bring your favorite coffee and creamer to complete your morning routine. Other fun options include an ice cream maker, KitchenAid stand mixer, slow cooker, blender and a panini press.

The heart of the home is the dramatic living area, where soaring vaulted ceilings and a wall of windows flood the space with natural light and showcase beautiful views of the surrounding landscape. Gather on the oversized sectional to stream your favorite shows on Netflix or Hulu, play games (we have over 20 to choose from!) with family and friends, or curl up beside the wood-burning stove on a snowy Vermont evening.

Step outside onto the expansive deck that spans the length of the home and overlooks the meadow below for meditation or yoga (use one of our 3 mats). Fire up the grill for lunch or dinner, watch the wildlife pass through, or simply relax and take in the fresh mountain air.

The primary suite offers its own private retreat, complete with a covered deck, hot tub, and adjoining bathroom—an ideal place to unwind after a day of hiking, skiing, exploring local farms, or enjoying the nearby attractions.

Upstairs, the loft provides a cozy bonus space featuring a beautiful antique desk for remote work, along with a daybed for additional sleeping accommodations. A privacy wall helps create a comfortable and functional retreat.

The lower level opens directly to the backyard, where guests can enjoy cornhole, or evenings around the fire pit, s’mores under the stars, watching fireflies (yes, we have them early summer!) and some of the area’s best stargazing. This level also features two additional bedrooms, a full bathroom, and a second gathering space designed for fun and relaxation. Enjoy the large sectional sofa, snack table, bar area, pool table, and 65-inch television, while the pellet stove adds warmth, ambiance, and the subtle scent of wood.

We are near an endless list of possible activities beyond skiing and hiking. Hillside is close to VAST trail access and the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail—ideal for snowmobiling, biking, and four-season adventure.

During cooler months, guests can enjoy the warmth and ambiance of our wood-burning and high-efficiency pellet stoves, reducing reliance on fossil fuels while creating the cozy atmosphere of a classic mountain getaway. Our home is supplied by a private well, and water is carefully double-filtered to provide fresh, clean, great-tasting water throughout your stay. The property is maintained without the use of herbicides, pesticides, or synthetic fertilizers, supporting healthy soils, local wildlife, and native pollinators.

The result is a refined mountain experience where modern comfort, natural beauty, and environmental stewardship come together seamlessly.

Winter Access:
Please note that once snow is on the ground, at least one vehicle in your group must have AWD or 4WD to navigate our steep driveway. Professional snow removal is provided whenever it snows, and both owners regularly access the property with AWD/4WD vehicles without issue. Additional parking for 3–4 vehicles is available at the bottom of the driveway, where guests can easily shuttle up as needed.
