Fabulous property, be aware of fees

Amazing location and property. It’s an older hotel that has been well renovated with every luxury you can imagine and a few you didn’t! The view from the balcony is fantastic for sunrise photos and I happen to be there during a rocket launch, and you can see the launch from the property. Across the street is the beach that the facility has and it’s a beautiful section of sand and sea. The breakfast area is clean and bright and choices are extremely varied with items for every dietary requirement. Staff is friendly and helpful. I will definitely be returning to stay. The only problem I have with this hotel are the hidden fees. Be advised that the nightly rate is not what you’re getting. I did not read the fine print properly and was unpleasantly surprised to find that my room rate that was listed well under $100 was actually almost 200 with all the fees. I understand why they do it, but it was a jolting and unplanned expense.

I was looking for a quiet hotel, a little bit away from the heart of the tourist area. This hotel checked that box. I wasn’t expecting a Ramada or The Four Seasons. Room was okay. Property was okay. Beach was actually nice and not too busy. Breakfast was okay. Staff was pleasant when they weee available. My real aggravation was I paid all-inclusive via Expedia and then was charged $70 additional per night as a service fee. Called the hotel. They said “we’ll fix it if you can find your welcome letter”. I booked 5-6 months ago and could not find “proof”. Had I realized I was paying twice to stay here I would’ve gone elsewhere. Not worth the money I paid in total.

This is an aging motel from the 1950 s that is selling itself as a “boutique” hotel. Just old and shabby. It sits in a parking lot with the beach across the street. The beach was nice.

No elevator. I ask the guy at the front desk to help us carry luggage up the stairs but he said he was too busy! We are seniors. Shame on you!

The hotel is very unique - especially decor. Ocean view very nice. Breakfast well done. Plenty of choices, full breakfast , fresh fruit, yogurts, breads of all kinds for breakfast- breakfast included. Popcorn and cookies at night. Room exceptionally clean. Staff very pleasant. Easy drive to St Augustine or Uber. AAA rated. Very nice.
